    Default PC errors

Hey guys, some of you already know that I recently bought a new PC,and now I can't get it to work properly.

I have installed Vista Feb 2009 SP1 OEM Edition. I thought it was working fine until I got a BSOD last night after quiting CSS and earlier today when restarting my PC. There was also a weird beep-like noise last time it BSOD'd. This is all I could remember, I'm really freaked out. At first I thought my PSU wasn't enough to support the system, but after today's BSOD, I don't think that's the problem.

Oh and I forgot to mention that my net connection doesn't work in that PC anymore. It connects but I cannot browse. I could do it before, but now it just remains connected, sends data but I hardly receive anything.

What could be the problem guys?

P.S: Ay smile user has a better copy of Vista SP1?

    Tried Vista 64 bit?
I think its the OS problem, also you need to install drivers (updated versions from web) properly.
I think your PSU is okey. And about net connection, it might be a temporary ISP problem, or check if you lan connector is loss (happens to me all the time). Also adjust HD/FD mood manually. Sometimes connectors got so dirty (or loss) you will need to punch it again.
Anyway, that BSOD thing is internal problem. (just to be sure check bios if everything is okey specially SATA configs and PCI clocks). Did you OCed?

I have tried Windows 7 64-bit, but downgraded because I was having software compatibility issues. I have repaired Windows, and haven't gotten any BSOD's yet. But I still can't figure out the cause of that problem. I barely have anything installed.

I have a question, my DVD-RW's IDE cable is completely stretched out to connect it to the motherboard. I was wondering if the cable could move other components, hence the BSOD? Other components such as the RAM maybe?

Everything is at stock level in the BSOD except the boot order. I didn't OC it either. And I have fixed the net issue, cleaned out the connector and hub and its working now, but I'm more worried about the BSOD's than this.

Every BSOD shows some details about the error or gives some short message that will point you to the problem. Post here what message you get.

Ya I know, but I repaired the windows and those details were gone. I checked the error logs and it was empty.

Everything is working fine so far, I'll be exchanging my DVD-RW with my sister's SATA drive. I'll post a pic of the motherboard when I do. ThermalTake PSU's have so many cables, its scary.

Go to the BIOS and reset everything to default settings (there will be an option)

Re-Install Windows Vista and all the latest drivers from the internet for every device

The beep doesnt mean its a hardware failure, it can simply mean a malfunctioning device due to faulty drivers and/or OS. Try that and let us know

The Cable shouldnt be a problem, nor the DVD drive

edit: have you connected the Power connectors for the video card/all other devices properly? check that as well, and just for the sake of checking download GPU-Z and oene of the many CPU temperature monitoring softwares(I use sandra) and check the temperatures. Then let us know

It's a mistake on aayman bros side. His processor is the C2Q 9550.The psu is fine aayman bhai.If you could read what it said when it Bsod pls post it here. Then we might be able to help you.Usually after rebooting due to bsod windows shows what went wrong. And for being no logs are you sure that you didn't turn it off?A lot of optimization programs turn it off (i.e:tune up).

Ya I already reinstalled Vista and that deleted all my error logs. My GPU's idle temperature is always 60+ degrees, in-game 80-85 degrees. All clocks at stock level, with Ati Overdrive disabled.

Everything's running fine now, hopefully it'll stay that way. I still don't know what happened those two times, I only cleaned the registry, didn't change any other system settings. PC was running great so I didn't go that far.

bro I think u need a bios update

or u could try stressing the system...IBT for CPU (10rounds)
    http://downloads.guru3d.com/IntelBur...load-2047.html

& also try memtest for RAM troubles

& as for GFX I doubt that is the problem
but what was the PC uptime when u last had the BSOD

I am sorry to say sometimes this error happens with some specific PCs.
My friend bought a PC two monthes ago.
He had quite a decent pc like G31 mobo with E7300 and he always gets a hang after 1 restart.remember 1 restart.
    whatever i do it restarts.
    dunno why it happens.
contacted vendor but they also couldn't figure out it.:S
    It happens for compability issues.

and about ur connections---U had a MAC-IP or not if it was then u have changed the MAC by changing your Motherboard but i know u know that very well.
and ayaman man in your rig it says QX9550 not QX i think it is Q9550 and not 2.83Mhz it should be 2.83GHz.

there is a option to reset system after a hard crash. (somwhere in msconfig) (hate vista soriii)

u have to uncheck that option so that the systems remains on after the BSOD.

So when u r seeing the BOSD take a snapshot with a camera>> u should try to capture the bottom part as

thats were the problem is stated usually. Now post the pix here.

if u dun have camera or dun find the option try swapping out diff sticks of ram....

RESITTING them somtimes work like miracle but clean the connecting pad 1st be4 resitting with a pencil

    rubber.

Edit: get rid of the vista crap (soriii im not da only 1 who dosent like this thing) ......if u wana lurking around dats fine but for everyday use its a no go..

Ok I have disabled automatic restart, hopefully I'll never have to take that snapshot. I hate BSOD's. I just got the PC.

Finished downloading Windows Updates, restarting now.

@minitt: I would get rid of Vista in a heart beat if it wasn't for DX10. I paid a high price for the system, and I want to play games at all its glory. I realise DX10 has been hacked to make it work on XP, but its in alpha stages and is not very stable. Plus since DX directly interacts with the GPU, I'm scared that it will damage it.

Ballboy don't disconnect. I couldn't connect after I restarted my PC. I checked my other PC with the Bronze connection, it was working till I disconnected it and tried to connect it again.

As for the problems, I'm beginning to think its because of my copy of Vista. I used Windows 7 for 2 days and installed more or less the same applications, but I did get any BSOD's.

Thinking about starting download of "Windows Vista SP2 (64-Bit) RTM Retail DVD MSDN-T180DF".
