Default Need some advice for pc

    hey,

so... basically... i just finished school, so i have three months left till i leave so i'm just gonna play games like crazy for the time i have. i have had my desktop for over a year now, one of my rams got damaged so i'm gonna have to change that, but i was just thinking bout upgrading one or two lil things just to balance up my pc.

    here's the specs:

    mainboard: abit IP35P
    processor:core 2 Duo E4500 2.2 GHz
ram: Transcend Axeram 1 GB ( had 2 GB... one blew) 1066mhz
    hard drive: 250 GB
graphics card: Sapphire Radeon HD 3850
    power supply: Thermaltake 550W
    display: Dell 19" [square]

    and here are my questions:
    1. what can i change to balance up the whole thing. i don't want to change everything.
    2. i'm definitely changing my monitor.... thinking bout getting something around 22" wide screen... so are the samsung ones good?
    3. overclocking... is it worth doing it? is it possible for me to do it with what i have?
    4. cooling... any extra stuff... is it reely necessary cause my pc gets kinda heated up at times?

    thanks

dont buy SAMSUNG or LG.......go 4 DELL or HP.........and it's best if u dont change ur current monitor.

    Buy a 2GB ram & a new graphics card 1st,then go 4 a monitor if u really want a new one

    1) Buy 2x2GB DDR2 800Mhz for around 3k, and a Radeon HD4870 1GB for 19k. If u cant spend that much, get the Radeon HD4850 for 14k. If u want to spend even less, get the Radeon HD4770 for around 9k. Otherwise, stick with ur GPU and just upgrade the RAM

    2) Get the biggest montior u can get, 22" would be good but if u want to step up to full 1080p resolution u need a monitor(usually least is 24") with 1900x1200 resolution. Trust me, its a whole new experience. otherwise, 22" is fine

    3) With your motherboard and processor, the anwser for both questions would be a resounding YES. U can easily push that processor around 3ghz+, and it would actually give u a noticeable performance boost

    4) U wouldnt want to spend money on cooling to gain an extra 200-300 mhz on the processor. Id say save that money and use it on the GPU/Monitor

Hope ive anwsered all your questions, let me know if u want to know anything else

edit: look around for 22"-24" monitors, even LG and samsung have good models and u shouldnt overlook them, especially if youre on a tight budget
