They are a bit high priced at the moment, but should be with in reach round about budget time. If you can, contact Global/Smart for more specific info on the models they import.

I think the cheapest(If you can find it) would be the MSI P35 Combo which supports both DDR2 and DDR3...look in computer valley, they should have it

If they dont, look the the MSI X38 chipset motherboards, u should find the X38 Platinum for 15k i think, and its a good motherboard

why are u lookin for DDR3 btw, if u dnt mind me asking?

Default Re: DDR3 ram supported motherboard

There was a very good mobo. Gigabyte ga-EP45c-DS3r. It was 13k. But i think it is not available anymore. Atleast not in smart. It was a very good combo board. Supports ddr2/ddr3

Now ddr3is better than ddr2 if clocked higher than 1333MHz. DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15 and DDR3 1333 7-7-7-21 er moiddhe performence e kono difference nai. Kintu er upore latency beshi hoileo ddr3 is better for the sheer bandwidth. DDR3 1800 8-8-8-24 is way better than any ddr2 out there. And in BD ddr2 1066 4gb dual channel kit costs 7500. So i say go with ddr3 if yopu have the mobo. And other thing. DDR3 consumes less power than ddr2.

Keep in mind that usually DDR3 motherboards use more power than DDR2 motherboards

In any case, the differences are very little so its nothing substantial

Core i7 uses QPI, similar to AMD hypertransport but with one extra memory channel

But Dual and Triple channel has no performance difference in most desktop applications.
