Default MSI GTX 770 Lighting Pictured

With the upcoming release of the GTX 700 series discrete desktop graphics cards, excitement is high for any rumor or leak of which we can get a sighting. Now the folks over at WCCF Tech have gotten some images of what appears to be the GTX 770 from MSI, the Lightning edition. The Lightning edition features the Twin Frozr IV cooler. It is built on a non reference PCB.

The card would feature 1526 CUDA cores, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The memory would be 2 GB of GDDR5 memory running over a 256-bit memory interface and clocked at an effective speed of 7.0 GHz. The folks at WCCF Tech also indicate that it is likely that the base clock would be over 1100 MHz because of the card being a factory overclocked model.

The difference that backs this claim is the power connectivity. The reference design features two 6-pin PCIe power connectors, while this model with the custom PCB features two 8-pin connectors. That is effectively 150 W more of usable power.'

At stock, but it should OC some more. Not expecting a bigger difference than 15% though. If the 780 numbers are right then that's going to be a beast.
