    To get higher!! Actually overclockers think that not overclocking is a sin. And safe players think that I have enough why go to OC? Its never enough... like you convert a vid with 6300 in 10 min.. oc it to 2.8 and see the magic..
    Also if you are okey with 10 min while you can go faster I have nothing more to say.

    I seriously need to oc my 6300.Marex bro how are the temps of your one?
    The basic point of oc is to enjoy higher frequencies than the stock ones.
    If you have headroom for oc then you should do it.

    Murad vai OCed my 6300 to 2.8 without increasing voltage and my memory is also not overclocked. Temp idle 38-42, normal gaming 45-48, stress test 52 max.
    I am not sure but you might not be able to OC with your current MB.

    For CPU: Its all up to your MB. If MB supports OCing, then you can start calculating your processors multi.
    For GPU: Sure .. OCed GPUs will definitely give you better performance if you can OC it properly and if temp is under control. If it didnt.. no one will OC it right?

    Amar mone hoi na apni cooler change na kore 3.6 GHz cross korte parben. Ar ta korte hoile obbosshoi apnake proc and NB er voltage baraite hobe quite e bit.

    Known as GPUz and yes its the best GPU info soft. Just like cpuz. And search in google to dload it.
    And 4650 is a ok middle range card. It can perform like a 9600gso when OCed.

    First you usually do it by increasing the operating frequency of the cpu/gpu. Its not easy nor hard. But you have to know what you are doing beforehand. Or otherwise you will make youir PC unoperable. Requires a bios reset most of the time to get back from it. And if you up the voltage high you might fry the system.

    First Pros:

    Like many has said it here it allows you to get a lot more performance than you get.
    And sometimes it makes the difference very very clear.

    Cons:

    If you dont up the voltage it does not have any sideeffects
    But if you do reasonably it shortens the lifespan of the product. Not much say cpus live 10 years anyway.
    And if you do heavily it will die very soon. Have you seen any vids or pics of LN2 OC competitions? Like few months ago Gigabyte organised GOOC. In this occations processors get fried in matter of hours.

    Now why you want to do it.

    I am going to give a real example which i have done many times.

    Processor=============Pentium dual core E5200================Core2Duo E7400
    Speed===================2.5GHz=========================2.8GHz
    FSB====================800MHz========================1066MHz
    L2 Cache=================2MB============================3MB
    Multiplier=================12.5x===========================10.5x
    Bus speed================200MHz==========================266MHz
    Cost===================5100============================9000

    Now whats the main diff among these 2 pprocessors. Speed 2.5 to 2.8 and cache 2 to 3.

    Now you can OC the e5200 to 3.2 GHz without upping the voltage at all. Now lets see:

    Processor=============Pentium dual core E5200================Core2Duo E7400
    Speed===================3.2GHz=========================2.8GHz
    FSB====================1024MHz========================1066MHz
    L2 Cache=================2MB============================3MB
    Multiplier=================12.5x===========================10.5x
    Bus speed================256MHz==========================266MHz
    Cost===================5100============================9000

    Now i think you already understand although the OCed e5200 is low in cache fsb and bus but the 3.2 GHz clock will make up for it easy and outperform the Stock e7400 in everything. And you will see a speed boost of around 25%.
    Now you may ask than why do i need a c2d than. For me i can OC an e7400 way more than a e5200. May be 3.6 GHz with the stock cooler.

    Now do you think it is justified to buy a c2d if you are not going to do any cpu intensive work(3d rendering, video encoding, heavy graphics processing or virtualization of 5 OSs simultanously or any other thing requing a workstation). If you are a gamer it is not needed at all. Cause the game will run out of GPU resource way before it totally needs a better cpu. In Most of the games GPU is the bottleneck.
    If you are running a pair of 4850x2s than you shld definately get a core i7 preferably the 965.

    I bought a system last year for a kid in my area. It had 2 gigs of ram, gigabyte g33 motherboard, a 8600gt 256mb ddr3 and a pent dc e2140 1.6 GHz.

    Now it coldnt run crysis in high. Although ran smooth in medium. SO I OCed the CPU to 2.6 GHz and the GPu 25%. And viola it ran crysis in high. Not very smoothly but it was OK.

    Now how to do it.

    First if you OC, the Motherboard is the most important part of your PC. All the functions totally depend on the MB and the bios.

    I personally prefer Gigabyte but ASUS, MSI, Foxconn, Bioster, Abit, XFX and etc. is also very good. Beware of Intel branded boards. They are the worst MB you can buy with higher price. They dont OC at all. Most of the boards dont even have any options for it in the bios. The ones do even OC worse than a GB/Asus 945 Mobo.

    Now for CPU any core architechure based(C2D. Pent. DC, latest cel. d and cel dual core) will do. But try to get the 45nm ones. They OC better than the 65nm ones.

    Ram is imp also. Try to get higher frequency rams. Like 800MHz rams work better than 667 ones. You will run into the max fsb faster and will not be able to OC higher.

    http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu.../oc-guide.html

    this link will help you understand it well. But experience is important here. Dont go too far. And always test your system for 24 hrs before excepting its ok.

    Hope it helps

    And P.s: Here is some extreme kick ¤¤¤ OC events. Enjoy.....

    Overclocking is must for the enthusiasts. Human always wants more than they get. So by OC they can get more than they have.If u always keep ur processors/GPUs temparature low then it will cause no harm to ur pc. Just get a oc motherboard like p35/p45 and find the processor that OC most at ur price range. For example q6600 can oc higher than q8200. Same goes for GPU.So if u get the combo and oc it then u will get the best bang for the bank. U can get the processor oc higher by searching at google. If u r a noob at OC then first try to OC without increasing voltage.

    overclocking = ur computer is faster in general. more performance for less money

    careless overclocking = ur computer has no performance, since the hardware is dead

    it can also mean ur computer components will be degraded in time, so OC responsibly
