PSU -- Delux? Or otherwise.

Hello.
I just bought a XFX 6800GS (XXX edition). I'm not entirely certain about it's PSU requirements. But, I think mine is not exactly compatible. I've faced a bit of trouble, on and off.

I've been recommended the Delux PSU available in the market. Apparently, 650W at 2500 taka. I'd like to know exactly how this PSU is.
Also, the Delux casings that are available. They come with the same brand PSU, right? So, what's the wattage of those? And what's the price of those casings?

Clarifications, opinions, answers, whatnot are appreciated. Thanks.

Deluxe 450W Psu with deluxe casing 2800tk, why buy the psu only

because a 450W PSU of deluxe will hardly give you 300W if the 450W rating is not overrated. less if it is.

do not be fooled by the wattage ratings. most lower end companies overrate them.
but the main problem is the efficiency. you have to consider that.

IIRC, my 500W ThermalRock PSU efficiency is 85%. so it'd draw 500W and output 425W.
it cost me ~7000tk.

while im not sure but the delux PSU of 450W will likely have ~65% efficiency and 650 one may have 70%.
that makes 450W = 292W and 650W = 455W.

i bought ThemalTake's Armor Junior. I really wanted this 3D Aurora chassis. but SMART didn't import it fast enough. i waited as much as i could.

Your wrong man. Dont tell anything without testing it. The 450 Watt can handle even X1950XTX with ease. Ask CHR.Neon aka Rupel. Also the delux 450 watt is ATX 2.2 compatible and there is also a PCI express connector. As with Thermaltake 420 watt which is similarly priced it is not even 24 pin!

Also the 450 Watt deluxe has dual 12 volt rails and passive PFC. Smart Technologies tested the efficiency of Deluxe 450 watt which is ~80%.

How is the cooling of Delux psu?

Inside heatsink copper er. Extremely heavy compared to other non brand PSU's and cooler is 140 mm fan which intakes air from the casing and exhales outside the casing.

My post never mentioned Delux's efficiency definitely. I only guessed some value and posted what might be the outcome. in the end, it only means the buyer should lookup the efficiency of it to determine.


and for the bold part, im not saying this is the reason for this case but generally, the main reason a Chinese product cost less is because they dont need to pay for the research as they steal the product-blueprints of top level companies which is really easy as outsourcing is kinda mainstream now.

well neon told me earlier that deluxe psu were gud.. but when i wanted to buy it wasnt there in stock.. so i just had to go for the thermaltake..

Well, i cant recall the name of the shop, but the one next to UCC, and im not talking about Smart,
they had some 650W psu, at 3500/- a friend bought it, performing pretty well..

As far as I can understand, Delux is being highly recommended. Anyone knows what the price of Delux casing would be? Which has a 650W PSU? Otherwise, I think I'll go for the 450W Casing.
