Actually this is my friends phone. He probably won't pay, moreover I want to do this myself. (cause I want to learn to mess around with android. )
btw how much payment will be needed? (just in case if I change my mind?)

I wud prefer not to use custom roms..there r numerous bugs on them..I rooted my Neo v for a number of reasons..one of them is to clear up the internal card and move apps to sd..

The main thing in rooting ur Neo v is to check the build number. 4.0.2.A.0.62 and 4.0.2.A.0.69 are difficult to root. If u have this build number then u need to flash it to 4.0.2.A.0.42

    U can follow this guide..
    http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/398677#398677

If u face any problem let me know!

About rooting I guess the phone is running on ICS 4.0.4 .587.
    Follow this guide. talk.sonymobile.com/message/398771

Find your phone and follow the instructions. There used to be an old thread which got deleted. That was more newbie friendly. The screenshot of that thread can be found here. https://www.box.com/s/nenof6x508fr4sgvaz32

I don't think Neo V will get official JB, you have to use a custom JB.
To use a custom rom properly, you have to unlock the bootloader.
    http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions

See if the bootloader is unlocked or not. I suggest you unlock it [if it's locked] before flashing a custom rom.

@Badhon_raj , the topic you are reading is more than enough to easily install JB given that there's an official rom for it, if not look forward to unlock the bootloader and your options will increase tenfold.
