    Default best upgrade under 11500/-

hi all, this is my first post in here. my rig -

    intel pentium d 925 @ 3.0 ghz, 800 fsb, 4mb cache
gigabyte g965 mobo (does not support 45nm and 1333 fsb cpu)
    2gb ddr2 667 ram
    400 w power supply (delux)
    built-in graphics (intel gma x3000)
    built-in sound
    windows xp sp2
    15" monitor

may be i will get about 11500/- and dont know where to spend. i have chosen three options -

    1. ati radeon 4670 512mb ddr3 (asus/gigabyte/sapphire/msi) + intel pentium dual core e2200
    2. nvidia geforce 9600gt 512mb (asus/gigabyte/xfx/msi) + new psu
    3. only ati radeon 4670 512mb ddr3 (asus/gigabyte/sapphire/msi)

i'm upgrading my pc only for gaming. i want to play the latest and upcoming first person and third person titles in 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution, turning sound, A.I. and physics at max, AA to off/2x, graphics quality to medium or high and in DX9 mode. i just want more than 15 fps.

will one of them do my work ? or will i need to upgrade to any other parts ?

    thank you.

    Default Re: 9600gt or 4670+e2200

    Three options:

    1) Get a Radeon HD4670 or 9600GSO and a E2200

    2) Get a 9600GT now, save up some cash, and later get a E2200

    3) Get the Palit Radeon HD4650 DDR3, an E2200, and 2GB RAM

HD4670 + E2200 would be the best for gaming if it fits your budget, option 3 would be better if you do things other than gaming

    Also, overclock that E2200!

go for 9600GT+e2200/2180 & overclock the processor not to mention this motherboard overclocks like hell if u know how to overclock.i think ur 400watt delux psu can handle this so u wont need to buy any psu.

thank you for the replies. can anyone please tell me which 9600GT models are available in dhaka and chittagong ? are these two models available ?

    1. ASUS EN9600GT/HTDI/512M
    2. XFX 9600 GT 512MB DDR3 XXX Alpha Dog (PV-T96G-YDS4)

what's the benifit of using overclocked versions ? will factory overclocking hampers cards durability ?

    thanks.

overclocked versions provide better performance than a default clocked version.i dont think factory overclocked version hampers cards durability if hampers then its not to much.if u overclock a non-overclocked card & do serious damage then ur warranty voids but if u get a factory overclocked version & the card malfunctions then u'll have full warranty.both of the cards are available i doubt about the XXX version though

E2200 2.2ghz + xfx 9600gso 768mb ddr2 = 4900+7100 taka. Total 12000 taka. No need extra power supply. If possible overclock the processor.

    Default Re: 9600gt or 4670+e2200

i already have 2GB of ram and there's absolutely no way that i can increase my budget. so which one ?

    1. ati radeon 4670 512mb ddr3 (normal version)
    2. ati radeon 4670 512mb ddr3 (oc version)
    3. ati radeon 4670 512mb ddr4
    4. nvidia geforce 9600gt 512mb (normal version)
    5. nvidia geforce 9600gt 512mb (oc version)
    6. ati radeon 4670 512mb ddr3 (normal version) + e2160/e2180/e2200
    7. ati radeon 4670 512mb ddr3 (oc version) + e2160/e2180/e2200
    8. ati radeon 4670 512mb ddr4 + e2160/e2180/e2200

i'm thinking about number 4 and 5. and later i'll upgrade to e2160/e2180/e2200. so what do you guys say ?

    ---------- Post added at 13:07 ---------- Previous post was at 12:51 ----------

another thing, please guys dont talk about radeon 4650 or geforce 9600gso. 4650 is clearly one tier lower card than 4670. geforce 9600gso 384mb ddr3 is slightly slower than radeon 4670 512mb ddr3. and geforce 9600gso 768mb ddr2 is much slower than radeon 4670 512mb ddr3. so i want to buy either 4670 or 9600gt.

    thanks.

well, i am a friend of cryvidia1191. and my motherboard is GIGABYTE GA-965GM-DS2 (Rev. 2.0) too.

i dont know that 4670 ddr4 is available or not.

if the price of e2160 is 3000/-, then it's possible.

if needed, then i'll upgrade to 500w psu.

    thanx.

HD4870 the other two cards wont give you what you need, specially the Sucky 9600 haha couldn't run Crysis Warhead properly with the same setting of HD4850 lolz! Playing 1600x1000 ... doesn't lag.
