There is not much of a difference between a dual core & core 2 duo.both r based on intel core 2 architecture.for example e7200 has a clock speed of 2.53ghz, 3MB l2 cache, fsb 1066, 45nm.For e5200- clock speed 2.50ghz, 2mb l2 cache, fsb800, 45nm.there r 2 differences bus speed 800VS1066 fsb.it'll differ 2-3% in performance.2mbVS 3mb l2 cache which will differ maximum 5-8% in cache sensitive applications.price difference between these 2 is almost like 2500tk.just 1mb l2 cache doesnt worth 2500tk.in most of the games i saw they recommend 2.4/2.2 ghz core2duo or u can say e4XXX series which has 800mb fsb,2MB l2 cache but built on 65nm.e5200 is faster than a C2d e4600 which has a clock speed of 2.4GHZ(65nm).e5200 is 45nm so u have better overclocking headroom.with the stock cooling solution u can take it to atleast 3.00 ghz without any problem.e5200's current price is maximum 6500tk.if u want to save 2500tk just for 1mb l2 cache(e7200) then without any doubt go for e5200.

At this money i will suggest u E5200. With a normal motherboard like Gigabyte G31 u can OC it easily to 3.2ghz at stock voltage. If u can increase the money u can buy Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8Ghz 3mb cache at 9500tk. But I found that at web it dont OC well as its little brother E7300. But I think if u get the E5200 and OC it then u will get the best bang for the bank. With a good cooling u can OC it easily to 3.8Ghz. Then it will beat atleast E7400.
    My opinion Buy E5200=5500tk
Thermaltake dueorb =4500tk or Asus V60=3000tk
U can use these coolers on ur next LGA775 processor also so it has a long term value.

It will run the game same or better then 2.4Ghz or lower C2D processors. But if u OC it to 4Ghz it will run better than E8400 at stock frequency.
Its ur choice will u OC it or not.

Yup u must have very good motherboard and cooler to achieve 4Ghz mark on E5200. But duo orb is enough to oc it to 4ghz mark. This cooler is not that much bad. Motherboard like P35, P45 can do it. And bro Scythe mugen 2 is not the best cooler in the market. See this link and u will get it. Scythe mugen 2 is little better than scythe mugen so u will understand it cooling capacity. But u can say that it is one of the best budget cpu cooler.

    http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...1&limitstart=9

U can oc E5200 to 4ghz on gigabyte g31 too but it requires serious voltage and u need very good cooler and airflow.

Ya C2Q 2.33GHz was Tk13800 when I bought my PC. Go for that if your MOBO supports it. I have a question, how do you guys burn out your processors? I want to know cause I want to take precautions.

Are u sure the CPU is fried? Usually the chip should have a certain cut off temperature. Was it a P4D?

And the processor you should get depends on what you do with your PC, but at that price its definitely the E8400
