Considering speed utorrent is the best how?
I used bitcomet b4 and its speed in downloads was excellent!
I like utorrent for its miniature size.
VUZE is the best. It can find seeders from 4-5 different sources or network. It has all the features any1 will ever need. It is most feature rich client for torrents! The only downside is that its a memory hog .

Vuze is a resourse hog cuz its java. Anything built with java is a resource hog.
Dont say it wastes bandwidth .. If u dont know how to use it. No offense (back at u ^^)
If u dont like some features of vuze that consumes bandwidth, disable it!

I have to agree with Giddy SOul. I've always used utorrent . But only recently found about Vuze. It has got so many functions and useful plugins that I cant go back to utorrent now!!

I tested with some torrents and got better speed with Vuze. Because It can gather seeds from different locations and it has access to two different DHT network. One default(mainline DHT) and one thats exclusive to Vuze. And It also has a scanner that can find Seeds that are geographically near you. Also it can scan for Torrents and Seeds that are in your local Network (which dramatically improves speed ).

The best thing about Vuze is that its so damn customizable!! You dont want a feature ? disable it completely! You think a feature is taking too much bandwidth and CPU? Disable it! You need a new function that wasnt built-in ? Download it!! or better yet: Write it yourself !! Its completely open-source. It has a community that develops plugins for it.

The only negetive point of Vuze is that it takes a lot of resource (A side-affect of java ). utorrent is so light because its developed using c++ and they use there own libraries (afaik). But its not a issue for me.

Another bad thing may be that its not very n00b friendly (if you want to get the best out of it that is ) . If you are not really good with network systems or dont have a hightened sense for techy things you'll get lost once you enter the properties and options. There so much options to tweak. It can be overwhelming for n00bs

my last reason is probably why it isnt very popular amongst us

Ya vuze is not atall noob friendly. Even i got lost & couldnt find any of the advanced features when i changed back from utorrent. Felt like a fool cuz i didnt know how to enable advanced mode.
There are 3 modes in vuze. Chose the best1 4 urself.
For noobs beaware of advanced mode! It scary ! Enables too many things to fiddle with!

Btw The old meaning of giddy means God ^^

Giddy can be traced back to the same Germanic root *gud– that has given us the word God
