Default Did BD retailers deny warranty for GPUs (unless bought with full PC) last year?

Saw a sell post on TorrentBD. The guy says he bought a MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 from UCC last year. 11 months used. I got no intention of buying it but the lad says when he bought it no retailer were covering warranty for GPU unless bought with full system. Is this true?

What kind of treachery is this? Or is the seller selling a load of 中中? (beside the GPU that is)

yep, during the height of the mining boom, most cards (usually mid to high-end) I'd seen weren't covered by warranty by major retailers

things aren't as hopeless as it seems. I bought a gigabyte 1070ti that supposedly did not have any warranty. But I could manage to claim warranty through smart after contacting gigabyte intl. It even had warranty when they scanned it on their database.

These decisions seems to be made by "local" branches.

It is true. Any gpu not bought with a complete rig was not covered within the warranty policy.
