Default Using Displayport-To-HDMI Adapter With GTX 10 Series Card

Does anyone here have a GTX 10xx series card, and use a displayport-to-hdmi adapter like this to connect with monitor?

My problem is: I recently bought an Oculus Rift, and I had no idea before that my GTX 1070 only has 1 hdmi port and 3 displayports. The hdmi port is already occupied by my monitor, which only has 2 hdmi and 1 vga port. So my only option now is to hook up my monitor with my gpu through a dp-to-hdmi adapter and free up the hdmi port on my card so that I could connect my Rift to it. But I keep reading online that passive adapters like this found in BD do not work with 10 series cards. So if there is anyone using such an adapter with their 10 series card, please give a shout

Yup, but none on my monitor. Monitor only has 2xhdmi and 1x vga ports. I even have a 300tk vga-to-DVI converter bought from IDB, but even that doesn't work with GTX 1070
