How to know whether your ISP gave you real ip or not?

I don't have much knowledge regarding Real and Shared IP.

I know it's been discussed numerous times before but could someone please explain to me simply how to test for real ip?

If all the ports are open, it's a real ip.

go to http://www.whatsmyip.org/
if the IP you see over there is the same IP you see in your Lan adapter then you have a real IP.
