Default Steam downloads very slow compared to Xbox

Hello everyone, long time no talk.

Recently I was gifted an Xbox One (although I would have preferred a 1080). Anyway I decided to buy three months of Xbox Game Pass and downloaded a few games from there. I was actually pretty surprised by the speed because it was around 3-7 Mbps (Even reached 12Mbps once). I haven't played any game other than FIFA in a long time but today I bought Dragon Quest XI on Steam and my download speed is terrible, only around 500kbps and maxing out at 892kbps.

Is there any reason for such a big difference such as a server or something? And is there anything I can do to play my beloved series tonight?

    Thanks in advance.

Talk to your ISP, ask them about slowdowns or it could be that the game itself is less cached than the others. This happens a lot with older games and ones rarely played.

You sure you're reading the units right? Megabits per second and not megabytes?

It is megabytes. Sorry for that mix up.

As @Travel160 said, it probably isn't cached yet. Fortunately my speed went up to 1.5 megabytes so I managed to download it.
