Default M.2 Sata vs SATA 2.5 inch

Can someone tell me what is the difference between 2.5 inch Sata SSD vs m.2?

I am looking at below product now

    - Crucial MX300 M.2 2280 525GB SATA III 3D
    - Crucial BX300 480GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch

Is there any difference in performance? I am looking for 500 GB SSD... Feel free to suggest..

no difference in performance most prolly. just different connectors.

M.2 PCIe will give better performance.

M.2 is new standard. Check if your motherboard has it. If not buy the SATA.
