Default Coffee Lake build suggestion (Replacing my 6 yr old pc)

I currently have the following . I want to change/upgrade the parts that are in bold. Budget around 50k.

    • Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H61M-S2PV (rev. 2.2)
    • CPU:CORE I3 2100 (2nd Gen) SANDY BRIDGE
    • RAM:G.SKILL RIPJAWS (4GBx2) CL11 @1333MHz
    • Hard Drive:Toshiba 3tb x3, SSS: Samsung 850 EVo 256 GB
    • Graphics Card:GIGABYTE HD 7770 (will upgrade later when prices come down)
    • Display:LG 22mp68vq-p
    • Speakers:MICROLAB 2.1 HP: LOGITEC (NORMAL) (will upgrade later)
    • Headphone:ATH m40x
    • Keyboard:Generic
    • Mouse:A4tech Bloody V3
    • Power Supply:Cooler Master 450W (80+ BRONGE)
    • Case: Generic
    • UPs: Powerguard 450 VA
    • Operating System: WINDOWS 10 64BIT

I basically want a 8th gen build with ddr4 ram. I am not into OCing but want to keep that window open if i change my mind in the future. I want to use dual channel 2x4 GB ram with 3200 speed by using xmp. Will increase to 16GB (two dual channels) when prices come down a bit. Same goes for the gpu, will buy it when prices come down, for now i want to keep using my 7770 for my everyday task.

    I have these in mind:

    • Motherboard: Basic entry level z370 board will do. Nothing fancy like RGB.
    • CPU: CORE i5 8400
    • RAM: dual channel 2x4 GB 3200 MHz ddr4 ram (xmp). If not available, might go with 2x8 GB dual channel (but dont want to since price is high right now)
    • Power Supply: Minimum 80+ bronze. Might upgrade it later when i upgrade gpu.
    • Case: Case that can support my mobo and 3 hdds and 1 ssd.
    • Ups: with appropriate VA.

Plz suggest with price. I will probably build my pc in multiplan center.
I highly appreciate your suggestion. Thnx.

The room for intel coffee lake is stale , 8400 is a great processor but the motherboard for entry-level choices are pretty expensive. As you said you would consider overclocking so i suppose going with k series would be nice if you want that headroom in the future. But if you ask me in 50k ryzen i guess is a decent choice true that it won't be as great as intel's single thread performance but atleast it doesn't require to have a k series to overclock plus amd motherboard options are cheaper .dont go with 4x4 ram setup instead go with single 8gb slot so that in future you can get another one

Saw some reviews and decided to buy intel i5 8400 instead of amd cpus.

Well i intially wanted to go with 2x8 gig ram but the mobo is so pricey. B/H mobo was supposed to come out in Q1 2018 but where are they? will they come out in Q2?
Also, will the lower end mobos support 3200 bus or will they support
    2666? do they support xmp?

Without minimum 3200Mhz RAM, you can't feel the real taste of coffee lake. For saving 2-3k, don't go for a cheap Z370 with poor power phase design. Go for a decent Z series with minimum 10 phase power design. . By MCE feature you can slightly boost your non k processor. My 8400 is running at @3.9Ghz ( all 6 Core) and i have overclocked my default 3200Mhz ram to 3600Mhz and achieved cinebench R15 score 1004cb

    how is this mobo? http://www.binarylogic.com.bd/index.php?p=561

seems to the the cheapest z370 one available. And since i wont be OCing the cpu (and wont even use MCE), this should be enough right? this supports up to 4000 MHz ram.

also how did you reach 3600 MHz . by xmp? or did you manually OC the ram?

I wont recommend it, get this one if you are in tight budget. https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Z370%20Pro4/index.asp @13.5k

You should probably hold off on upgrading until new processors are released by intel and amd. Both are vulnerable to spectre and meltdown security bugs. The bugs can be fixed with software patches but will slow down the processor (extent of slowdown is not yet definitive).

Buying this at 15k would be a much better choice:

thnx for the suggestion. but i dont like rgb also not sure if my budget will cover this. but will definitely consider this, if my i can extend the budget a bit.

also are these the same board, becuase they have different audio codecs: (ALC1220 , ALC892)

    https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z370.../Specification
    https://ryanscomputers.com/msi-z370-...-product-view2

    spec till now:

Motherboard: As rock Z370 Pro4 (might go higher if budget permits) => 13,500
    CPU: CORE i5 8400 => 16,000
RAM: dual channel 2x4 GB 3200 MHz ddr4 ram (xmp). If not available, might go with 2x8 GB dual channel (but dont want to since price is high right now)
Power Supply: Minimum 80+ bronze. Might upgrade it later when i upgrade gpu.
Case: Case that can support my mobo and 3 hdds and 1 ssd.
    Ups: with appropriate VA.

    i cant wait that long.

How is this for ram? http://www.binarylogic.com.bd/index.php?p=220

    timings: 16-16-16-38-2N

i can safely oc it more than 3200 MHz right?

Dont want to go with trident becuase it seems they are taking a premium for aesthetics and rgb and i dont care about either of that.

Actually TridentZ almost exclusively use Samsung ICs which are regarded as best memory ICs.

Oh. i didnt know that. will i see a better performance speed/timingwise compared to ripjaws?

Been using a pair of ripjaws for years without any hiccup. I wouldnt mind having another pair.

I dont have much knowledge about pc case. plz suggest a case that can house 3 hdds and 1 ssd.
i would prefer a case that has good ventilation and needs less fans to cool it and has somewhat good cable management.

and for ups i woudnt mind going for a powerguard one (i can mute the beeping by ressing the power button once, which is cool).

    Total: 62,700+ 27,000 = 89,700 Tk

Thnx to all the BG members who helped me out. Your guys are awesome as always.

    thoughts:

mobo: I went with the extreme 4. Its a nice board. I have turned of all the LEDs but could not turn off the red bios light which is pretty annoying. I will probably use pvc tape to mask it.

ram: couldnt find g.skill, so went with the Team elite ram. It does what its supposed to do. But the build quality is very poor, especially those thin heat spreaders. You can easily break them if you apply a bit of force.

case: couldnt find the deepcool case which was my first choice. But i am beginning to like the case i bought. it has fan control button which is nice. I only wish it had more dust filters. Also cable management is not the best.

ups: bought the powerguard because i can mute that annoying beeping.

    benchmark:

Memtest86+ completed 11 passes and found no error.

Stress test using Aida64 results in cpu temp around 85 C.

Cinebench score 901cb (cpu) and 88 fps (opengl). ( cpu was not overclocked in anyway. Ram was @3200 MHz using xmp)

    problem:

Only when i use prime95 the cpu temp reaches 100 C and performance gets throttled. The temp graph becomes sinusoidal.
I think i really need a cpu cooler. Not a fault of the case airflow. Result was same one the side panel was completely open.
