Thread: Any better ISP with good routing for gaming in 2018?

Default Any better ISP with good routing for gaming in 2018?

It's been really long, we've entered the 2nd month of 2018! But the same question remains, any improvements in online gaming? Is mango still considered as a better route for gaming? If so then I would like to go for an ISP which uses mango. Any kinds information would be appreciated. The main focus is about low ping. Specially in Asian and SEA servers.

Dot has been good for me. Plus they have cache download speed for all the major gaming platforms (uplay, steam, origin etc.). But ask around though. Some had horror stories with them. But then again haven't we all with any ISPs?

Right now, the lowest ping you can expect to SEA servers is 50-60ms. Call ISPs in your area and have them send you ping tests/tracerts. I normally test using sgp.valve.net.

AmberIT has stable ping but often has 5% packet loss. I wouldn't recommend Dot because their network is quite bad. Back when I had it, I faced 10-15% loss most of the time.

I get 60-70ms in SEA servers from both R6 Siege and League of Legends in Garena. Using DOT Net.

AFAIK the best possible ping we can get from SEA servers is 50 to 60ms.

Does 60-70ms ping in R6 Siege give you noticeable disadvantage over others? (e.g. those who have less than 30ms ping)

same here. no, not really. the game becomes problematic after 130 ms I would say. A teltelltale sign is trying to hit the drones I would say. If the ping is too high, the drones will sometimes skip or teleport instead of a fluid motion. You can only see from defenders' pov. If there's noticeable packet loss even at low ping, you can't even hit the drones without ADSing. I always hipfire drones during prep phase since the defenders' SMG reticle is so small and I notice that.

But whatever the ping, the game gives you huge peeker's advantage. For example, you are holding an angle in a doorway. Boop enemy peeks and sees you standing still not doing anything to him and then headshots you. Whereas you didn't even see him. So generally sudden peek alwways >>> holding an angle.

BTW my uplay is Sybaris_caesaR. Hit me up if you wanna squad up.
