this is my 3rd mini itx build for gaming. took me a long time to assemble everything.

components: i5 8600k, asrock z370 itx, crucial ballistix elite 16gb, zotac 1060, corsair sf 450, coolermaster elite 130, arctic cooling freezer 120, samsung 960 evo 500gb, wd gold 10tb, audioengine D1 DAC, sennheiser hd650

here are some tips for new itx builders.
    1. you will need to put a serious effort on hardware selection as compatibility issue will raise if not careful earlier. in my case my AIO cooler is not compatible vertically.
    2. dont go for the smallest cases or aesthetic cases, buy practical cases with better air cooling as you will need air for cooling.
    3. SFF PSU is a life saver. less cable clutter than atx PSUs.
    4. go for AIO for cooling solution as most mini itx cases have air cooler compatibility issues. but for AIO coolers look for coolers with shorter tube. long tubes will make cable management more difficult.
    5. short gpus are not good for long time gaming.
    6. dont buy fancy rams with peculiar heatsinks, it will raise compatibility issue.
    7. dont buy motherboards which have fan headers or 4/8 pin eps power connectors placed in odd places.
    8. old usb 3.0 internal header is a nightmare for cable management
    9. buy case fans with long 3 pin/pwm cable as you will need to route it through different holes
    10. try to make assembly as perfect as possible at the 1st time. cause in case if you make a mistake, you will have to go through disassembling most of the hardware.

This is a bit against the popular beliefs, but reference cards work better in ITX builds because it focuses on pushing the hot air through the side of the chassis whereas the AIB cards with their custom fan design dumps the heat inside the chassis in the hopes of the chassis' ventilation/air flow to take care of the rest.

I have had the pleasure of meeting him just once and I can say without a doubt that Codename5302 bhai is among the few elite enthusiast BD has left right now.

You'll find people boasting with RGB rigs with their 1080 Tis in SLI and whatnot.. but they all aren't worthy of being labeled as "enthusiasts" if you know what I mean.

thanks a lot @Fox Mulder for your kind words but to be honest i am just an ordinary man and even before that i consider myself a gamer. it is true that i have a passion for pc hardware and electronics but elite enthusiast tag will be overwhelming. i am now not very well informed about latest tech due to daily life. at my age most people would naturally leave gaming but still whenever i get a chance i sit down for a quick round of single player gaming session.

the most technological well known person i have ever met is you. long ago when the forum was active with so many well informed people, i used to read so much debate and discussions from you and learned a lot.

Gamers can grow old but let your passion for pc building and gaming be always submerged in the fountain of youth. It is a major part of our lives and gives us our true identity. Anyways, we would always love to see awesome builds like this in the future.
