Default Suggest high-speed Pendrive (USB Flash Drive) and where to buy

    Hi guys

I have had pretty bad luck buying USB 3/3.1 pendrives here. Once two years ago I bough a cheap Transcend which is still good to this day writing at 20MB/s but it is only 8GB.

I recently bought two USB 3 drives back to back in a span of a couple of months. One PNY and another Transcend. I was disappointed with the PNY writing at less than 10MB/s, so I thought the Transcend would be better, but it's not.

For normal use the pendrives are OK and write speed doesn't matter. But I use UFDs a lot for writing Linux images and VM images as well and testing those images. Normal users won't even realize that speed matters. No store has been able to tell me which of their products has high write speed.

Please tell me your experience and if you have any recommendation, and where I could purchase such a high-speed UFD at least 32GB. I don't mind paying a premium if it's benchmark-proven.

    Thanks!

This will be the best buy in my opinion. Didn't find anything else (Sandisk, Kingston top ones) than this.

Oh, thanks for mentioning that! The last time I checked their Dhanmondi branch they said the Voyager was not available. It seems they might have stocked it again.

Still, I'd like to know if all the Transcends, A-DATAs, PNYs and what not have so much shitty speeds. There must be some kind of decent speed models among these brands.

Yeah there are, good luck finding them though. When a friend of mine bought this from a photocopy shop second hand, he didn't realize he struck gold.

Im still using my Team X101 32GB pen drive that I bought from Impex Computer in JFP. 2.5+ years in use & it's still working flawlessly. Always got the exact write speed(70 MB/s) that they advertised. Read speed is 150 MB/s(It was written 180 MB/s but I never got it).
Its price is now 1400 tk. I'm unaware of the current market though; not sure if anything better than this product within this price range is available.

So I guess you're right. There's no sure fire way to tell.

Doesn't look more expensive on Backpackbang than what's already available here, so I'll be considering this for sure.
