surely you don't like every anime that you watch? The ones that you don't like, just delete them. I purchased a 160 GB external HD for storing anime only. After I finish watching them, I backup the ones I liked in DVDs and the rest are deleted.

more than 80% cost goes behind the internet bills.
backing up is not the main part of the cost
though that cost is not that cheap either.

and just for reference, just the total DragonBall collection
probably is about ~150GB.

the anime we download, are usually of 5 to 10 times
more size than what other people usually download.
that is the problem.

but in the end, we prefer the highest quality possible
i.e., quality over quantity.

That's not true, I got around 15 series from other people and I gave just about 5 blank DVDs in return. You just need to find the right people. You can try talking to solid snake

Anime sharing huh !!!!!....... Not into them for a while now...... But even so i think its a good idea. An anime section would help lot where people can make requests, and others can offer their collection. Building up a network would be necessary, so that the same people don't have to give same stuff to differnt members. It can be like a tree where all the goodiez will flow both upword and downword.

If you're buying blank DVD's for anything more than 15taka/piece in bulk, then you're being ripped off. Try buying a 100 dvd spindle for 1000 to 1300tk.

And besides, there are websites where you can get high-quality anime's in small size (60MB to 80MB). It all depends on the encoding of the video format.
