    Default Anyway to fix HDD???

    I have a secondary internal hdd 500gb...problem is that data transfer has become super slow and one of the partitions has become RAW... I ran chkdsk a couple a days back buts it hangs...after that i didnt use it anymore...any suggestions? Can it be fixed???

    There is a old freezing trick can be applyable in your case, first of all take your hdd into a plastic paper then close its mouth and put it into deep fridge for 24min and then take it out from fridge and wait 10min and then put it into your cpu again and see . .hope this will help you but the fix is temporary not permanent solution

    BTW i managed an internal HDD from a friend...question is that i want to run it through usb like a portable...will the HDD be safe?

    Just putting it in a plastic bag won't help because he would need to make sure that the bag is air tight otherwise its going to have condensation anyway and hence the harddrive will be prone to dying. Anyhow this trick along with the 1 inch drop method are simply luck that basically sometimes fix the platter of the harddrive, but it is more of a chance than a confirm repair and you have equal chances of ¤¤¤¤ing it up. Just buy a new drive, the 500gig HDD's have become cheaper now especially if you consider the prices when the bankok flood fiasco happened, man a lot of people even started selling some of their older HDD's for higher prices.

    I have given up on that HDD...what do think about the portable HDD idea?
