Default Shahbagh - Share your experience!

I find it surprising that no one has posted anything about possibly the largest peaceful protest our country has ever seen.

Post your experience here, I want to know some details since I can't see it myself.

Also, no flaming please. I know that not everyone feels strongly about 1971, I don't either, but that doesn't mean we should deny justice to those who did witness it. As usual I encourage open minded posts as long as you don't let it go out of control.

This movement teaches us that when old are confused to make right decision younger are always ready to face bullet in their open chest. Politicians always think that people are blind but this movement will give this massage that if you do something wrong then get ready to face the fury of nation either today or tomorow.

I have that feeling too, but hey it's uniting people. And in a country where everyone is divided because of their pride, social status and what not, unity is a lot even if it is a gimmick.

One thing I see in fb is a guy trying to "lead" people. I forgot his name, starts with an S. I don't think his messages convey anything meaningful but he's gaining popularity like no other lol.

Btw, I heard legislatures are being changed to pass the death sentence, can anyone clarify on that?

cant clarify anything.. kokhon ki shuni, konta hoax are konta true, hard to tell.

One thing is true, even if its a gimmick, its a genius one. and they succeeded, the government is now passing new laws to allow appeal against the verdict.

Its will be a shame if it ends here though. I wish it never ends, and i wish they come up with new agendas. Like, 1. ban Jamat, 2. ban Ershad, 3. get the corrupts. Would be really awesome if this happens.

but its likely that Vanguard is right.

Its just [EB]. Not Elite B[a]stard or anything like that.

Thursday, wednesday and friday te gesilen?

Na gele apnar protest tar shomporke khub kom dharona amar mone hoy.

anyways, I'll share my point of view about this protest.

Gotokaal notun bochorer first class e gelam. Bangla 2nd teacher. class e polapaner hoichoi, kader mollahr fashi chai etc etc.

Hothat sir boktita dilo ekta. and ami aste astey fushte thaklam. Ignorance er ekta limit thaka uchit, atleast.

According to him, beshirbhaag "Gyaani manush" chinta kortese je ei protest diye desh er bhaabmurti noshto hoitese bairer bisshher kaase. chollish bosor pore tar bichaar karjo shuru hoise, ki dorkar eto hoichoi korar katha baalish niye? emon key shey? police van e kore take ekta public area te niye pachjon diye aste koira marae dik, ar oi pach jon ke hawa kore dik, tatei kaam khalaash.

Ei porjonto ami EKDOM COMPLETELY disagree kori.

First of all, this is the biggest protest after 44 years(Last one was '69) and this brought all the people of bangladesh together that nothing in the past 42 years even managed to. If that is considered a crime, I don't know WHAT do you call your LAW.

second of all, desher bhaabmurti noshto? That is just NONSENSE. protesting for something right cannot destroy the image of us in a global scale. shei hishebe toh Egypt hoilo ultimate example of ¤¤¤¤ed-up-image.

Third of all, EMON KE SHEY?

EI PROSHNO KORAR POR AMAR MEJAJ SERIOUS GOROM HOYE GESE. He killed 338 people in ONE day at alokdi. That is a horrible crime. I didn't expect international crime tribunal to be this dumb¤¤¤¤ed. James Holmes and Breivik er moto aashami jokhon faashi pae tokhon eke keno jabojjibon dewa holo?

The next point is just IGNORANCE. Either amar teacher er law er upor bishhash nai or he's completely out of his mind.

anyways, I should just say that I'm supporting this protest. =)

Alada ekta feeling chilo. Now I know how teenagers felt during 71. Our generation missed 71, but um glad we had this. Gimmick or not, protesting is something we should do more often. Only if we could protest the corruption away.

Its will be a shame if it ends here though. I wish it never ends, and i wish they come up with new agendas. Like, 1. ban Jamat, 2. ban Ershad, 3. get the corrupts. Would be really awesome if this happens.

but its likely that Vanguard is right.
Banning Jamat will not destroy them rather it will push them to do underground politics. And remember, underground politics has never been good for any countries if we look at the history. All it brings is chaos.

of course banding will not destroy them 100% but it will stop them to influence and hire people against country. And if we dont band that party who helped enemy in 1971 then we are killing our morality as well as nation.

And its not a gimmick. No political party is leading them even if anyone trying to say anyting about politics then people are insulting them throwing emty water bottle and raising their voice. And they have announced a cyber war against Shibir who are very much active in internet.

There r various types of protest. U don’t have to bring sticks and petrol to destroy and burn innocent civilians private properties to show ur anger or disagreements. That’s the style of “jongli” jamat and other *** political parties including league and dal. We failed to kick out IIC with violent blood thirsty war in hundred years but Gandhi did it. Anyway this protest is not a full photocopy of that, but it’s just a start. You never know whats waiting in the future.

And about the fun part like “rono shongit”, “kobita”, Natok and even those dj parties are welcomed because those r the tonic to keep the protest alive. Just memorize the the effects of ” chorompotro “ on freedom fighters during 71.

It’s not about banning jamat. It’s about banning “ jamat name” and their political philosophy. They r welcome to do politics with any other name. Because the same party with same name did terrible crime against human rights which is much much worst then war crime. Our constitution don’t allow such things. Like no party can say Pakistan jindabad in our country. That party will be banned and will be punished. Every country has some basic constitutional structure and the structure of jamat and their belief contradicts with our constitution and belief. And its not rare in the world. Nazi party is banned from the world and many members of that party are still receiving punishment for their war crime. Same thing should be done to jamat.

One thing I see in fb is a guy trying to "lead" people. I forgot his name, starts with an S. I don't think his messages convey anything meaningful but he's gaining popularity like no other lol.

Btw, I heard legislatures are being changed to pass the death sentence, can anyone clarify on that?
Changes legislation approved. Look here http://www.prothom-alo.com/detail/da...11/news/328507

Zafar Iqbal too clever for his own good.

There r eye-witness reports of Ogni KOnna being beaten by political thugs. Did not come out in mass media, but sth happened. Any1, anything on that?

I'm amazed at the civil discussion here. I came in half expecting to see 'chagu,' and such posts.

Sadly, I haven't had the time to drop by. The sheer unification it brought on is nothing short of amazing though, that much I agree on.
