which SMILE INTERNET package should i get??
I recently decided to make the switch to smile.. i heard its considered the best in dhaka these days.. before i start using it i need some advise.. Which internet package should i get.. GOLD OR DIAMOND.. it says on their site that i would get 1MBPS for gold n 2MBPS for diamond which obviously is not true since its bangladesh.. how much download speed do u guys think i will really get from gold n diamond???

Bronze or Silver almost same.
Gold is bit higher and Diamond is highest package.
1 Mbps = 128 kBps [not 1 MBps]
2 Mbps = 256 kBps [not 2 MBps]
this is the maximum speed u will get.
but generally u will get the 1/3 or 1/2 on average.
Aayman is diamond user and Lord is gold user.

Gold 30-40, Diamond 55-65. It was better before, a LOT better, 220kB. But bcz of bandwidth shortages they reduced it for the time being. One thing is certain though, even after they get more bandwidth (this jan), in Gold you wont get above 50 anytime, maybe sometimes 80. I suggest 1st month Gold, 2nd month Diamond, that way you'll save up on installation charges as well. They have no upgrade charges.

yup, they said that they raised it to reduce the amount of new subscribers. Smile is in a win-win situation if you ask me. People will take their line as soon as they enter new areas. So many benefits, its hard not to take it.

Thnx for the quick reply guys!! I guess i'm gonna stick with aayman's plan.. 1st month gold than upgrade to diamond the next month... But just out of curiosity how much is the installation charge for diamond???

all ISPs in Dhaka does that.. I had uttara online b4 n they made me pay double of what I was paying just 2 use a 2nd pc!!

Dont take smile...... i was using brac this morning...... now using smile..... the same file i was dling in the morning showed 23KB/s dl speed...... now im getting 3 KB/s for the same file...... o ya.... its a nvidia driver from nvidia site.......

Its bullshit that no ISP allows connection sharing.. I am using X-press. 1650 tk pacage, up to 38kbps DL speed, i am sharing with 6 other PCz, its a radio link connection.
My point is.. they allow me to share.. but i always get 28 kbps. With the same money.. a smile connection is offering double bandwidth. BUT THEY DONT LET ME SHARE
BTW, sniper gaming zone ee smile use kore joto dur jani.. do they share??

Nope, 10 separate connections for 10 pc's, with individual installation charge as well..
