Not all HD 6950 are unlockable, only the reference HD 6950 can be unlocked to HD 6970, just the extra shaders that is, and even then, some people experienced stability issues, so please do not provide misinformation unless you have unlocked it yourself, in that case it's okay.

The problem is 6950 cant be properly utilize to 6970 and it can be close but not the same . And efat vaia is right that 6950 unlocked to 6970 has issues ,(some user opinion in guru3d and tomshardware wise) but its price is great and only few can be available with this price and if there is no internal issues and after bios flash if importers can allow to claim warrenty then its a great card in this price. .

P.s.: i am sorry if i spoiled your post and i dont wanted to hurt you so if i did anything wrong or said anything bad then i am sorry @Alif

    Its ok bro!
Actually after unlock u need to overclock little to get same performance (80Mhz more). Then it shows same performance. Actually 6950 and 6970 is same card, AMD just block 128 Shader Core for 6950 as there Market policy. Its AMD's common trick!

Yes after unlock it will void warranty so I don’t unlock yet. But after warranty period I will surely unlock it. And till now there have no major claim for Reference 6970 2GB version , (Few claims for 1GB Reference and non-reference cards)

    According to techpowerup.com-

“Just like on all other similar products, AMD's two Cayman variants, called Cayman Pro and Cayman XT, are based on the exact same GPU silicon. The model variant a GPU chip becomes is decided after the die is produced, at some point before it is put on the card. Creating new SKUs from the same silicon by locking features has been common practice in the industry since at least the Radeon 9500 in 2002.”
