Default General suggestions for buying a TV

My parents are considering buying a TV as our old one is not working properly. They are undecided on the budget but they are probably going to use it for a long time. Here are some general questions they are asking:

    1. Does buying a TV with HD/Full Hd/3D make sense in Bangladesh unless you watch movies from Blu Ray or from the computer through HDMI? Do any cable operators provide HD channels in Bangladesh?

    2. Is it worthwhile to buy a TV with internet?

    3. What are the best places to buy TVs from apart from the official distributors if you want a good price and a long lasting product? Is it safe to buy the TV through someone who lives abroad?

    4. Samsung or SONY?

1.Full HD isn't bad if you got tatasky, dish tv which have 1080p channels. 2.I really don't know i never had one though someone with some experience with internet tv should know, but in the end its your choice and its a shame youtube/and other 'stuff' is blocked in bd, so i don't see anything worthwhile. 3. Try clickBD and i saw a thread here in which BG members get a discount on televisions, uhh heres the link http://banglagamer.com/showthread.ph...682#post504682, but if you buy from abroad you'll get HUGE Taxes 4.I'd prefer sony.

if it is intended to be used for long time, buy sony.
for older generation people there is no point of 3d, internet, smart, 1080p etc etc. buy the simplest one with reasonable price. and it is always better to buy from official distributors.

this. Official showrooms of Sony will cost more, but you'll get proper warranty support.

there is no problem with walton as well. it is far better than some of the chinese tvs present in dhaka. in fact i will say as a home production walton has better quality for viewing sd channels than other deshi tvs.

of course, they are not built for elitists.
