Exclamation Pc shuts down while playing games.....Urgent help needed

Hey guys I've a got a serious issue with my pc... yesterday night I was playing street fighter and my Pc suddenly shut down. It made this weird noise and shut down instantly. I was kinda sleepy so didnt bother rebooting. Today while playing street fighter, after like half an hour the same thing happened. I rebooted and played street fighter again and it happened after only 5 minutes. Rebooted again then went to have dinner, came back fired up sleeping dogs and after half an hour the same thing happened. rebooted again measured maximum gpu temp and found it to be 52 deg.

Now posting this, only a few days back I used to play Street Fighter and fifa for 4 hours straight. Even sleeping dogs used to play for 2-3 hours straight.

So what do you think might be the problem???

    -Gpu Overheating
    -CPU Overheating
    -Virus
-PSU unable to supply required power to GPU (I know I have a Shitty PSU)
    -Some problem with windows

So what could be the problem and whats the solution. Please guys I really need your help......

Or PC spec deo ase. Look at 'ramiz's Gadgets' just above his picture/logo/avatar. As for you problem, is it possible to get a different graphics card from someone else. Because if the prob occurs with the new graphics card then your card has sth wrong.

P.S.: Does your PC show a Blue Screen (BSOD) ? and does your PC completely shut down or does it restart ?

If the noise is a beep like sound then try to count the no. of times the sound is made. Also lookout for whether the beep is long or short. It is possible your RAM is causing probs. Another thing I would suggest is that take out your rams and then use it individually (first 2GB then 4GB) on both slots. Keep us updated.

Its a psu problem and also can be faulty rams too. .just pull out the extra 2gb ram and run the pc with 4gb alon and observe if it occurs again or not and also if timing of 2rams doesnt match then this kind of problems are common and also check your psu in another pc

ok since 2 pm today the pc was running non stop till 11pm. Web browsing, listening to music and the like. did a full virus scan, found a few viruses and cleaned them up. Did a full defrag. uninstalled some useless programs, cleared up some space. Rebooted the PC, fired up sleeping dogs.....GPU load was 100% and max temp was 74 deg. After about 45 mins of sleeping dogs the PC shut down.......so what do you think??? will clean up the hardware tomorrow....will try switching the rams then.

You Sir....deserve to have a busted PSU if you haven't cleaned it for that long. The temps that you are telling us more or less confirms your PSU has gone bad.

May be but seems like your psu is culprit . .when your cpu and gpu goes overload and then your pc restart so looks like your psu cant able to handle cpu and gpu loads at a time

Your processor is overheating (guessing you're using BE series. Better you should mention your processor model in your rig section). Max safe temp of AMD Phenom II X4 BE series is around 60°C.

As you didn't face this prob before there is a good chance dust is causing the problem. So you should clean your pc first. Let us know what happens after doing that.

Thoroughly cleaned the pc and wow...it was filled with dirt...yuck.......after the cleanup the first thing i noticed was that it ran a lot quiter....before it was like a jet engine....idle cpu temp was ~42 and idle gpu temp was ~36. Played sleeping dogs for 50 mins..no shutdown...cpu temp (MAX) 66 and GPU temp ~66/64

looks like the cleaning solved the problem...will have to conduct a few more tests........how do I decrease the cpu temp even more?? will replacing thermal paste and further cleaning the heatsink do any good???
