@CvP the name of this thread is Best gpu card by price/Performance. But this is only gpu performance related thread. The original page of the article at tmshardware is about graphics cards performance and how much faster one gpu from another. Thas's why the name of this thread should be something like graphics card performance chart or guide. This is my personal opinion.

8800GTS 512MB is FAAAAAAAAAAAR more better than 8800GT and 4850PRO. In real life, I have seen 8800GT is better than even 4850PRO [In case of CRYSIS series and FARCRY, in GALIB's house. He told me in 1280x1024 resolution FARCRY2 hits 35-40 FPS in his 4850 and my old 8800GT hits 40-55 FPS eeeeasily. It is the truth]. I hope the ATI fans will not give me groan for this. If anyone thinks that i'm wrong, please just advance logically.

    Just take a look:

    হুম জটিল বিষয় ! Graphics Card একটা রহস্যময় জিনিস, এক এক Hardware এর সাথে এক এক রকম Perfromance দেয় ।

I looked at the Crysis and Assassins Creed Benchmark in the link you provided . It beats the Hell of 8800GTS and you r trying to compare an 8800GT with 4850 (I dont kno wat u mean by 4850PRO)

And if u seriously want to prove Toms Hardware wrong.. then why don't u provide the PC specs of both the PCs?
    Which Should include:
    1. Processor
    2. RAM
    3. PSU
    4. GPU
    5. Driver version

Is that a Space PSU ur using? That that too at 450W?

Even a branded PSU like thermaltake of 450W is just OK for ur config! & Ur using the Default PSU of a space case?

    Get a better PSU!

that tomshardware chart is absolutely wrong, and dont trust tomshardware as the most reliable source (if you were reading their articles for the past ten years or so, you would know)...The 8800GTS is quite simply nio match for the HD4850, which is known even by nvidia as a competitor to the 9800GTX+ (or the GTS250 )

and please, maybe there was something wrong with the configurations which youve seen in person, but in farcry2, GRID and left4dead here are the benchmarks: HERE

Are you telling this to me? If yes, Then i'd say I use 700watt PSU with 72% efficiency.

Have you checked this this chart in Tomshardware? I dont think so. @GiDDY_SOUL

You can be right because we all know that in higher resolution ATI 4 series card is in at great advantage. But the question is HOW MANY GUYS USE OVER OR EQUAL OF 1600x1050 RESOLUTION??? Keep that in mind.

About the PSU. GALIB Has a Space 450W PSU. He posted his benhmark of FARCRY2 along with his PC config.. I dont know Why he Deleted his post!

I checked the Toms hardware and checked Benchmarks with AA enabled. The benchmark link u provided is with AA disabled. Check the benchmarks with AA enabled. How the hell do u guys play with AA disabled, without it all textures should have crappy edges!

Its a known fact that 4850 has way more power than 8800GT/9800GT/don't know whats its old cards new name!
And why did u go to the trouble of finding few benchmarks where Ati 4850 fails to beat the 8800GT with AA disabled.

Ati's 4870 X2 manages to the GTX295 in some benchmarks too that doesnt mean 4870 X2 is a better card!
What are u trying to prove Nvidia FAN boy?

@ Galib why did u delete ur post?

ok, to really stop this nonsense of the not so mighty 8800GTS, see this

    What the manufacturers think

So yeah, the GTS250 is a competitor to the 4850 1GB, according to the companies who make GPU's for both nvidia and AMD. There you go

And again, STOP quoting tomshardware! In the link you provided, the GTX280 is beaten by the 9800GTX+, so we must assume that 9800GTX+ is faster than nVidia's fastest offering?

Even in lower resolutions the GTS250 is the competitor, 9800GT doesnt come close, there is a HD4830 to take care of that

Well. I want to end this argument. We all have eyes, don't we? YES, we have. I have several friends who use 4850. From Saphire Toxic Edition to Gigabyte 4850 Basic edition, in 1024x1280 resolution, I have seen no one's 4850 are getting more FPS than that is one of mine (except HL2). SO, WHATEVER YOU GUYS SAY, WHATEVER THE BENCHMARKS SAY, AND WHTAEVER ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD SAY, I DON'T NEED TO CARE THEM. BECAUSE, I BELIEVE MY EYES. SEEING IS BELIEVING.

Now, i'd like to say that you have got all the right to call me a "Jerk" or "Dumphead" or "Mad", whatever you think. It is entirely your decision. And I know my decision too very well. So, keep it up guys. ATI ROCKS, you know!
