this thread might end up in trash but i want to post it.we ppl in bd really love eidul azha [korabanir eid],and most of us love to go the gorur haat,so why dont u guys post some videos of ur visit to the haat in youtube,i mean u can capture some video of the bigger cows in the haat and also the cow u bought for korbani or the biggest or strangest looking cow in ur area,it will be fun guys so do contribute ur videos.i'll post a video when i do go the haat.

btw, i do not like eidul azha a bit the way it is now. it'd been much better for society to spend all those money for charity works instead of buying and wasting money on stupid cows.
and i think the main moto of this eid was to sacrifice your precious things to help the one's in need. we have derived far away from it.
I for one, will never waste money in this stupid way. instead, my money will go to some form of charity works.

neways, i dont agree that it is some 'retarded way to waste money'. speaking of myself, this year hopefully we are donating everything among poor people in our village. besides, the orphanages collect their funds during qurbani'r eid. if there is anything retarded abt this, that is some people putting up a show of money and status by over-spending.

I dont go to haats, but I have nothing against sacrificing cows. We always give meat away to the poor, maybe they sell it off later, but we've done our part. In a country like BD, there's not much you can do for charity. Directly donating money guarantees that a part of it will go "missing"

well, i never enjoy going to haat. If i oppose 2 things in Islam directly one would be Kurbani. i can never feel right about slaughtering an animal for our showing of sacrifice. it just hurts me. i will request all who enjoy watching kurbani to look at the cow's eye. the pain u will see is no less than what u see in a hungry kid's face.

actually its not the thing that wasting money ...
if ppl say that it is wasting money then they should read abt JAKAT which is 1 of the 5 columns of Islam . Every rich family must give JAKAT to help the unstable ppl .. so "wasting money" this string variable is not declared in eid-al-ajha..
it refers to the SACRIFICE .. Immolating a goat, sheep, or camel is just symbolic. We see that the innocent animal is firmly under our control, prepared to die for the will of its Creator. Are we ready to sacrifice our lives, our possessions, our inner desires, and our ego? Are we willing to place ourselves, like helpless animals, under the control of the will of our Creator?
if you are really true in mind abt SACRIFICE then you will see no fear in your own heart and thats the thing that you will see no fear in those ANIMAL they are ready for you and they are ready for Allah
