Our shopkeepers doesnt bring the so called Bulk (from Intel what they says) processors rather they buy the refurbished ones and sales them at a very high price. It was just a 10 piece order, 100 piece order would bring $20 less on each products.

The meaning of refurbished doesn't necessarily mean it's been restored to working order by professional/the manufacturer, it has a variable meaning, it could be an open box product returned to the place of purchase for some sort of customer dissatisfaction or scenarios where the customer going for an upgrade after making the purchase within a short period etc. and from a reliable source, what I've heard is that these bulk processor that're mostly available in our markets are actually meant for OEM vendors, hence no original coolers are bundled and we're supplied with the rubbish chinese intel stock cooler knock-offs when we purchase these bulk stuff.

Yeah the word refurbished can have various meanings but yes, being a little careful wont cost you much, right. For example, while buying this bulk processor, there are the small plastic transparent covers of the processors which carries the SN/part number which MUST be the same the number labelled on the processor body itself. If it doesnt match, there is something really wrong and i would suggest to avoid them.

A little caution never hurts but contrary to that belief, I'm keen on taking a gamble, but I have very little faith in the warranty service the Bangladeshi retailers/importers provide for their products to be honest, so being cautious would be the best policy, seeing what a hassle these warranty claiming procedures are.

Those are usually sold as open box products, refurbished generally means there was some form work needed to bring it back to full working/cosmetic condition. I have yet to see a single item which was Open box but labelled Refurbished.

But refurbs aren't a bad thing and there is absolutely no point in being worried about it. Refurbs have the exact same warranty and have to go through the same quality testing as normal versions.

I have bought many refurb items, albeit not computer components, but they all look and perform as good as new.

The question is not the quality of the product, its what will happen when you need RMA services from sellers here.

The possibility of RMA situation for this case is 1 out of 1000. Most of the cases consumer may have performance issues with the processor which goes unnoticed on 95% occasions. So the Bangladeshi sellers will happily take this risk while keeping their money bag happy.
