The i5 3750k is cheaper and is a better performer at gaming if its clocked that high. But you will have a tough time pushing that 3750k over 4.5GHz without proper cooling.

lol wPrime is not proof of being far more powerful. And no 3770 is not faster than 3570k at whatever clocks speeds. Look at some real benchmarks, especially those for gaming.

Anyway, you won't be able to push the 3570k to 5GHz so don't look at it that way. Think 4.2Ghz, anything above is a blessing.

If u consider only for playing games go for 3570K. But for overall performance including gaming go for 3770.

Definitely i5 3570K with a decent cooler. With i7 you'll get HT, which has no use in games.

Because there is no real world gaming differenece between the two and you can have fun overclocking the i5. If a unlocked i7 was brought into the equation then that is a no brainier.

i would go with the I5 and pick up a good cooler, and overclock. The i5-3570k will last a long time because you can oc it to increase its gaming performance and newer games are going to be more demanding.

if its for gaming only it should be i5 3570k with a decent cooler(like CM hyper evo) for overclocking...if you dont want to overclock go for i7 3770....but i would prefer i5 K series for better value vs performance.
