Default Need an ISP suggestion and ISP comparison.

    Hi,

I have a 256KBps broadband connection in Dhanmondi. The problem is it works only 3-4 hours per day. I used Grameenphone modem for some time, and though it worked 24-7 the speed was really slow.

Any suggestions on a cheap yet good ISP?

And can anyone give me a comparison of all the ISPs?
Like Broadband vs Cellphone Internet vs ADSL etc?

grameen phone === ¤¤¤¤ . and any wirless package is incomparable to wired broad band because they dont have fair use policy (truly unlimited). wimax is somewhat better (but u will not expericene sweet low ping multiplayers)

when u play a game 'online', if 'ping' is low u will expericene a smooth gameplay. but if ping is high u will "lag". so a wired broadband like link3 will have low ping in even foreign game servers (ping will be around 250-350 mili second and in bd servers ping can be less than 50 ms ) but in case of wire less conncetion u simply cant get ping that low even in bd server u might get 250ms or more

besides with wired broadband u have the local sharing speed 350KB or more which is unlimited . grameen/banlalink/wimax/teletalk all have something called 'fair use policy'...... a limit after which ur speed will be decreased significantly or u will be charged more ... ping is also high. 3g price would be too high

bottom line: wired broad band is best right now

Contacted link3 I am outside of their coverage. I did some searching and there are only two providers in my area I think. I am using one and the other is almost the same a friend says.

So I dont think broadband is an option for me, though I will keep trying to find a way to get it.

Still, if I cant find a good or better wired broadband, which one should I get? WiiMax or Grameen? Installation and operating costs need to be taken into account btw.
