    Default Feedback about Tournament system

    Feedback/questions/comments.

    Hi guys.

The link to tournament section should appear at the top of the site/forums.

Create your clans here. be sure to invite your clan members to join the team.
It is mandatory to create a clan here for any kind of clan activity in BG.

when there's a new tournament/league/ladder, you can join it from here.
you can also discuss/comment on them.

PLEASE read the rules first. (link).

For any questions/comments, head over to the feedback thread here.
    • Main forum rules also apply here
    • It is recommended that you do not use weird characters in team names
    • keep the team/clan tag SHORT
    • do not use decorations in tag (like ~~tag~~, [tag], <tag>, @#$tag$#@)
    • you can only create one team
    • do not create separate teams of same clan for separate games (like team.dota, team.cs).
    • you can join many teams
    • for ladder, you need to update your match score by yourself. any kind of cheating in this will result in a STRAIGHT BAN from BG.
this system will also enable us to provide clan tags in front of your name in postbit.
after we code this thing, all clan tags from everyone's nick will be removed.

while many may disagree with me, the most common/easy way of clan tag+nick format is

    [tag] nick

    some may prefer <tag> nick,
    some may prefer ~~tag~~__nick__
or some other weird style like nickTAG or nickpart1 [tag] nickpart2.

but these are not compatible with automated systems.

thus we shud follow one tagging style.

about the weird chars (that is symbols, Greek letters etc)
let's get this straight: it is childish.
look at the professional clan names..how many of them use these things? almost none.
    here's a sample: http://embedded.garena.com/main/index.php?tab=promo

using those symbols that people dont know how to write creates a lot of problems at times.
therefore, it is highly discouraged to use them. if i get enough support, i'd like to make it forbidden.

I don't see how automated Clan tagging is still a problem though. Say, the [IB] Clan Tag is Different from WyD?. Even automated clan tags will be different as the names themselves are different. Why not just put in the respective clan tags, e.g [IB] as the clan tag for the entire team. You don't necessarily need to set an universal asteriks for all the automated Clan Tags! Get it?

PS - Not posting in Staff Central because there might be feedback. My team's Tag comes with team-morale attached to, so I would rather not have a clan tag than have to change it. |

well, if they write ~IB~, people will still know them as IB.
if they write WyD.nick, people will still know them as WyD.

    take this name TE.SenSeiFAR
what's the clan name here? TE?
    now how about these names GG.AIM / Mr.Dynamics ?

if you provide decorations within the tag, there's no definite way to distinguish it.

on the other hand, if the decoration is provided by the system, it can have some color (or anything else)
to make a clear distinction which part is your nick and what is your clan.
for example: [WyD] nickgoeshere or [TE] SenSeiFAR or [IB] nickgoeshere or [IB] nickgoeshere

later, with mode coding, it will be possible to configure these colors/styles.

but if you include decorations in tag, these are not possible.

CvP, I say, let them name whatever they want, and whatever style, like:

    Hyper ! DirtySecreT
    3D | Ksharp
    Grev \\ DirtySecret

What you can do is, in your system, make it so, we sign in the same way, but it shows clan tags in BOLD font.

    EDIT:

Dead link diso onek gula. -_-.

    you didnt get it right.
user name will be without ANY clan tag. existing user names with clan tags will be edited and clan tag will be striped off.

the clan tag along with decorations will appear before your nick in certain places IF you belong to a clan.
    that's all.

    support for clan tag.
    support for clan tag what?
    including decorations or system provided?

i also think so seeing the CAPITALS in there right now.
let's keep it open till most of the current clans form a clan there.
then we can make it moderated.

start it experimentally for one clan.. say TH7. give them decorated automated clan tag and see how it looks.

i think everybody's gonna appreciate it.

but now ne1 can open a clan by visiting the tournament page.. i don't think this shd be permitted.

The way we write clan tags kinda matters.... so just keep it the way teams want it....
    as SenSeiFAR showed...

sorry. clan tags will appear before your nick.
that is the norm. i do not have the patience to code for a whole day to make it
    appear anywhere in the nick.

if it's adding clan tags, no.
existing clan tags from usernames will also be removed soon.

make your clan in the tournament section. clan tags will automatically appear after i code it.

i dont think i fully understand the idea here.. so i think i'll just say what i thought would be cool some time back

no clan tags should be present in the ACTUAL nick .. it will be just ZEUS or SENSEIFAR or COLDFIRE no clan tags.. clan tags as you say should be displayed somewhere perhaps beside the nick and maybe clicking it can direct you to that clan's page for easy navigation ..

now i dont think clan tags should be manually given to those who belong to clans but maybe you guys can make a code or so that will display the clan tags beside WHOEVER BELONGS TO THAT PARTICULAR CLAN AT THAT PARTICULAR TIME ... there will be an official list of the players in a certain clan at a certain time giving the EXACT nicks of the members here in BG .. so the code will then just put the clan tag beside those who are in the list.. this way if anyone is removed from a clan/joins another clan the tag can instantly disappear/be updated and just as easily new members can be given the tag...

the page consisting of the list of players should only be accesible to the clan lord/admins so it cannot be misused .. and maybe for added sparkle a custom image or sorts can be chosen by any clan for their tag ...

    i hope i made myself understandable .. .

and what you have described is perfectly what is going to happen.
i dont know why would I go through all these troubles unless this is not the case

i would start the coding this friday prolly. hopefully things will be ready by Saturday.

and please ALL Clan Leaders, create your clans and send the clan link to your clan members.
they will see a JOIN TEAM link there by which they will be able to join.
you (clan leader) have to approve after that.

you can also assign leader and coleader.
