Default Buying Sony Xperia P. Suggest useful apps, mods, upgrades and good games

Before you get confused, let me clear the fact that I am not asking about food. Cell phone enthusiasts have guessed it, I am talking about 2 of the popular cell phone OS: Microsoft Windows Mobile Mango and Google Android Ice Cream Sandwhich. I know some of you are going face palm thinking why I even opened this thread, but to them I want to say I am a complete cell phone noob and want to remain that way. But I do need to know, which OS will be faster, give me more awesome apps and allow me to play a few games.

    Why Mango?
Because Nokias have them. My Dad is a Nokia fan. He has a few Nokias and is willing to buy more. So I can convince him to buy a Nokia for me. Plus its more available. There are Nokia stores almost in every busy corner, unlike other brands. So I can persuade my dad to buy me a 710 or at least a 610, where as for any other brand, I have to buy it with my own saved up cash, and then listen to my dad whine about how I wasted my money.

    Why Android?
Maybe 90% of medium to high end phones are coming with it nowadays. Even not so popular chinese brands are adding android phones to product range to target teenagers and low budget customers. So there is no doubt I will have a wide range of apps to choose from. But is it worth spending 20-25K? I want a phone for gaming and browsing and thats about it. But I do need a fast device.

So my question is to you guys, should I spend 20-25K and get a good android device or persuade my dad to buy me a Nokia 710? Will getting a Windows phone worth it in terms of speed, browsing and gaming? I am not concerned about specification or camera. I need a practically fast cellphone with better browsers support.

All sorts of helpful post will be appreciated. Please don't make useless and unrelated comments. Thanks in advance.

You should get a good Android phone in this budget.
Go for Dual Core processors to get better speed.

I wanna see one person who's gonna suggest you to go for windows phone then I will find him and kill him loool...obviously android. in budget, better apps/games, UI, imo there is not one point that i'd give to windows phone over android. That's what my experience is with different phone and that's what I think is right...."Sony Xperia Sola" and "Sony Ericsson Arc S" is in ur price range i fink.

@N2O Mango is not very easy to operate + it will not give you opportunity to taste many apps. While anroid is lot more easier and if you search you can find many crazy apps, games to play with your new device. If budget is very limited then SAMSUNG Y DUOS or if a it is a little bit high then the new version of SAMSUNG Ace or S. For any handset visit gadget and gear shop near to you. Why giving extra 6k or more for just warranty. I have bought many handset from Gadget and Gear and they are really good, you can trust on them.

    http://www.facebook.com/GadgetnGear?ref=ts&fref=ts

Hence I would like to mention if you do not hesitate then visit clickbd do some random calls and prepare a research report on SAMSUNG Galaxy S2 who can say you can still get almost new S2 at 22-25K.

Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 Anyday of the week. And I'm a Nokia fan too. Their build quality is still awesome but I stopped buying Nokia ever since they moved to Windows Phone OS. Anyway, ICS 4.0 definitely has the most Apps & Games. And I haven't properly used a Windows Phone yet. But I can tell Ice Cream Sandwich is quite fast & runs REAL smooth on my Galaxy S II.

bro the question should have been jellybean or mango.

android all the way even the ics in my galaxy nexus had slight amount of lag(almost insignificant) after updating it to jellybean im like WOW it does feel like butter.

i would suggest any android phones thats getting the jellybean update.in your budget its not possible increase it to 34k n ull get a galaxy nexus or galaxy s2 38k.anything lower than these 2 phones u cannot enjoy gaming or browisng.

another thing the nexus brands get the official android updates as soon as they are released.4.2 is already on its way this november.browsing on the nexus is flawless id suggest u go through some reviews and do some research on these stuff.

Doesn't have front camera. Not much of use.

Rather go for Xperia Neo V.
Looks cool and can be upgraded to ICS 4.0 easily.

My suggestion again, go for dual core processor like Xperia U/Go.

After a lot of research and comparison I have decided to buy Sony Xperia Sola. Its basically Xperia U with a card slot. I am not a fan of the Sola's look. Obviously not the best looking phone from Sony. But its got everything I was looking for. A sexy scratch resistant 3.7 inch screen, with the performance of Cortex A9 Dual Core CPU. Unlike the Xperia U, its got a card slot, so I don't have to worry about memory either. At 21K, this is the best in my budget. Now I just have to wait to gather my cash.

Good choice, thank god you didn't get a Windows phone. If you want your phone to last, don't change phones much and want the most out of your phone, then Windows Mobiles simply can't be a choice at this point. Maybe a year or two later it can be a viable option, but till then Android and iOS all the way.
