its really disappointing that not a single one(except CvP)mentioned abt final fantasy....there is no rpg(to me)bigger than final fantasy...hell i shud call this the god of all rpgs.......

well, not everyone plays games from early age to know about all the games. esp when FF VII, VIII has a lot of difficulties on running on windows XP.

but these two games are the ones which made RPG a genre.

DUNGEON SIEGE just needs to be added to the Opening, followed by the Elder Scrolls Series. After that you could call it the secondary list. The primary list, you ask? You daft son? FINAL FANTASY OFC.

FF 8/X. Play Dungeon Siege 1, 2. Too good.

I am also, surprized as to how Diablo wasn't even mentioned once in this thread. :S

Btw, might I also suggest Freelancer. It's not a core RPG, but it has some RPG elements. One of the most fun and unique games ever, no doubt.
