    Default 4 pin to 3 pin stuff

    the thing is i recently bought 2 CM xtraflo fans...and these fans ar sooooooooper awesome...but the thing is..i can run only one..the fans need 4 pin connector (i mean they have 4 tiny holes ) ..and my mobo has 2 (4 tiny pin like stuff which say cpu/chassis fan connector, 1 is way out of the reach of the wire) so i cant use the other one...how do i use the other fan..i heard of something like 4 pin to 3 pin converter or something like that...any help guys??

    i'm so excited... thats why i'm going to tag some people..hope you guys dont mind

    the first two pins are vcc & ground, third for the sensor, fourth for the pwm control.
    if you can insert the first two into the socket, you dont need any converter.

    You can plug in a 4-pin connector on a 3-pin socket. They are compatible vise versa too.
    Otherwise you could get a 4-pin PWM Y-Splitter.

    currently using a cm xtra flow on a 3 pin connector... only problem is that i cant use pwm function as that pin is not connected... meaning its running at full capacity all the time, good for my case airflow but kinda bad for its life[maybe] expectancy but who cares if these things run for 1-2 years, i'm satisfied....

    you can also buy this type of cable & some male-male rails and make a converter yourself. The one shown in the attachment is 4pin, but 2pin cable also available. You can find it in the stadium market. Cable + Rail = 10BDT.
