Any one here, can repair hdd?
It is 160gb samsung.
It is 4+ years old.
First used with an intel motherboard with no problem. But when it was handed to a new mother, it started to act weird.
If the pc is off for 1/2hr , it hangs while starting at bios screen .if then change the sata port then it says s.m.a.r.t. error and the boot normally, no problem. Now, it is not detected by motherboard ,no matter how, what mother it is connected to...
Anyone can repair or know a trusty place to repair?
I don't think HDDs can be repaired, only replaced. :S

Never seen it be suggested in any international forums, and I'd rather trust them more than BD's quack shops
If it's reporting reallocated sectors/too many pending sectors, it's already dead or will die very soon. Data recovery is possible though, so I think they actually meant that.
But best of luck.
I saw in a forum, to freeze hdd in a deep_freezer for 2 to 3 hours with a plastic wrapping.
First heard gpu baking
Now, hdd freezing.
the freezing technique is only for last-ditch data recovery. It is not going to repair the drive.
