Default Computer hangs while playing video

I am having weird problem with my pc. Sometimes it hangs while playing video. Today it happened twice within minutes. It makes weird buzz sound. I think it maybe some codec problem. Did anyone have this type of problem? Didn't face any problem while playing games for hours. I have tried VLC and KMPlayer (K-Lite coded mega pack installed). On both occasion computer hanged.
    Pc config:
    Intel® Core™ i3-2120, 3.30 GHz
    Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3V
    Transcend 4+4GB (1333 Bus)
    Sapphire ATI 1GB HD 7770
    Thermaltake TR2-420W

I have to do hard reboot by holding reset button for 5-10sec. Okay I am guessing it may be for avi format only. mkv and mp4 didn't freeze i guess :S

This happened to me a few months ago. PC used to lock up randomly (At times after 1 hour) during movies and games. PC used to hang up, and continue the sound wave twas performing prior which feels like a buzzing sound.
Turns out my new RAMs were the culprit. I had to do voltage tweaking on those things, and now it runs stable. Did you upgrade your PC recently?

Try playing a game. A stressing one like The witcher 2. That always roots out PC errors.
