Thread: Is core i5 3450 @3.5 ghz better than cori5 2500k @ 4,3 ghz

    Default Is core i5 3450 @3.5 ghz better than cori5 2500k @ 4,3 ghz

    as according to the benchmark core if 3450 @3.1 ghz get more than 300 points than corei5 2500k @ 3.3 ghz .core i5 2500k can actually equal core i5 3450 @ 4.5 ghz ..so what do you think ...

    its all about overclock that matters...............

    I think in that sense fx 4100 @4.2 ghz or even other bulldozer like fx8150 better than core i5 but when benchmark show they rarely can defeat core i3 .it means those clocking ,ghz does't matter much ...when one cpu's each clock is faster than other cpu.. i don't know why there is no link where all the sandy bridge over clocking should be compare to ivy bridge non clocked ...i think Ivy can take 4.5 ghz sandy easily on its stock clock now then over clocking would be meaningless at some point cz of high priced mobo or cooling system

    just one short advise: DO NOT MIX UP ARCHITECTURES.

    IB has around 5% more IPC. While it depends on the app, usually in order to match SB an IB requires around 300mhz less. So the 3450 has to be at 4ghz to somewhat match a 2500K at 4.3.
