Hey guys, I need a new board for my sig rig. The Old GD-65 died
So I've limited options here in BD so I need a bit of help, so could you guys suggest me which would be the best within these?
Asrock Z77 Extreme6 - 18,000BDT (220USD)
Asrock Z68 Extreme7 - 27,000BDT (343USD)
Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 - 14,000BDT
Gigabyte G1 Sniper 2 - 18,000BDT (220USD)
ASUS P8Z77-V - 22,000BDT (269.889 USD)
ASUS Z77 Sabertooth - 25,000BDT (306USD)
MSI Z77-G45 - 18000BDT (220USD)
So thats about all my options, so any help on these would be appreciated. I would like to keep the cost reasonable in the same time I can pay extra if the board is worth it. Plans of doing 2-Way SLI but I don't think I'll be doing 4-Way. Yes I do plan on pushing the CPU upto 5 GHz or more as I've done it before on my GD-65. And yes these are overpriced in BD, nothing to do

1st of there's nothing called a Z77A GD45(as I'm aware), it's a G45*. Out of those choices, it's either the Extreme4/6 if you want to save a bit and have everything a high end board offers. Or if you want to go über high end, it's the Sabertooth/Extreme7, bt I'd avoid the Z68 chipset now since Z77 is widely available and is newer.
Btw where did you find the G1 Sniper 2, it's a Z68 right? Is it really available at 18k, or just listed on Smart's website?

What? I searched the whole of IDB, but never saw a G1 Sniper 2 and at 18k it's almost a steal!

Do you really need a PLX chip, does 8x not suffice?
The Extreme7 will be outdated* and is replaced with its Z77 counterpart. If I were you I'd grab the Extreme6 or the G1 if you want to get a good overclock on that 2500k. The Sniper uses some really highend components and is compared to Asus ROG lineup for the most but it's a Z68 and I'm not sure if Gigabyte was generous enough to polish their 3D UEFI/Bios on their previous flagship.
I don't need it all that much but yeah it would be nice to have one.
Though thanks for the advice. I'll be picking up one tomorrow so lets see if the Sniper is still there.
asrocks really good...you cant go wrong with asrock z77 ex4/6...im using ex4 right now and its a great board..8 power phases..runs cool...great features..but doesnt come with too many accessories...in fact it comes with only 1 sli bridge and 2 sata cable..and i heard something about problems with SSD (also heard its now solved but not sure what the problem is/was and how it was solved)...@14k (ex4) you'll be pretty happy with it
If I can though, I would love to grab the P8Z77-V if the price is lowered a bit. So Thats in my option list too so is the Extreme6.
How badly screwed is your PSU? Throw me a PM with details please.
Anyways, just to let you guys know, I was able to get my hands on a Sabetooth Z77 for 23.5k Thanks
Thanks for the PM and congrats on your purchase of a wonderful board, I'm eying on a new build and I'm eager in buying a 20K+ worth motherboard which I hope by the I'll purchase it, won't be overpriced in the market, please update your sig btw, the Asus Z77 Sabertooth deserves recognition!
