It was a few months ago that the featured image of this post teased a new game from the Senior Producer of The Witcher 2, Tomasz Gop.We've today stumbled across his Linkedin profile which now has a name for the game listed, as well as a few new details. The name of the game is now known as Lords of the Fallen and is being published by City Interactive. The placeholder name for those of you that might remember was simply, Project RPG.
The game is set 1,000 years after the death of a god whose corpse has split the world in two. Early on in the game, you will be tasked with crossing the split and deciding which side to ally yourself with. The combat in the game is said to resemble Dark Souls, Kingdoms of Amalur, and Batman Arkham City and is said to have features that are easy to grasp, but are filled with depth. A New Game Plus mode will be included with the final product as well. However, these were the original details listed for the game a few months back. The updated Linkedin profile sheds some new light on the plot of the game and other small details.
Straight from the Linkedin profile, here is what was listed:Action-RPG title set within a medieval fantasy world ruled by a Fallen God. Fighting against the formidable Lords and Generals that command his demonic army is one of game’s strongest features. LORDS of the FALLEN rewards skill and persistence among hardcore Action-RPG fans; it presents players with great challenges followed by greater rewards and satisfaction. The story plot and twists allow approaching the conflict between humans and demons from various perspectives. (More info later this year.)
The game is currently slated to release in 2013 on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
