    Default Teletalk 3G

Finally, a solid news about launching 3G in the country and still drowned by vague ads and policies. Can someone please enlighten me the details you can gather/assume after going through this ad?

As far as i could figure out about this pathetic policy, i can say that it definitely doesn 't stride with the tiltle of the ad. "Dhakkadhakki-Maramari chhara".

As far as I can see

this add says if you use that 'Gravity' plan for 3 months you will get 3G for free.

without proper INTERNET and speeds 3G is a gimmick. no one cares about video call.

everyone cares about google map and watching youtube in their phone

Saw the advertisement on today's newspaper and then later I checked Teletalk's website for more details, now the question that comes to my mind is whether the service will live up to the expectation we have from 3G, but on the bright side, atleast it's a sign of good things to come.. I surely hope TeleTalk won't provide us with speeds like 29KB/S and call it 3G, for example airtel provides edge but in some places their edge provides gprs like speeds which is frustrating.. and the last time I used TeleTalk's internet, my experience wasn't very pleasant.

Actually that is what you should be expecting. 3G hok ba LTE, core bandwidth problems thik na korte parle egula kokhonoi full use kora jabena. These are merely means of transferring more data, most areas can't even max out Edge, 3G to durer kotha. I used to get 300kBps with 3G in the US, ei speed to amra desktop connection ei pai na lol.

Great! So that means our batteries are gonna get drained quicker due to the reception being 3G yet what we'll be getting is Edge like speeds.

I can clarify you a little. I have done some surveys and study RAN design with Nokia Siemens Networks. It is not yet possible for us to deploy a full-fledged 3G network in the country . Look at the data below, it is the standard speed of the true mobile generations.

In USA most of the companies use CDMA technology, so it is easier them to convert to 3G, more specifically W-CDMA. In our country we use GSM(except Citycell) technology. To upgrade to 3G we need UMTS technology, which is a painful process for them whose have shortage of money and bandwidth.
Most people think time is like a river, that flows swift and sure in one direction. But I have seen the face of time, and I can tell you, they are wrong. Time is an ocean in a storm. You may wonder who I really am, and why I say this. Come, and I will tell you a tale like none you have ever heard.

Verizon and Sprint are CDMA but Sprint is a joke and is dying fast. AT&T is the largest in the US and is GSM.

Totally wrong. GSM is the king. All CDMA providers are moving to LTE. which is a GSM derivative. Even verizon and sprint are onboard.

CDMA will be officially dead in 2 years. As there is no competition to LTE. WiMAX was one but it is not a proper mobile tech. it is feasible for data though.

Almost all carriers are enabling VoLTE this year. After that even 3G is dead
