lol they are not forcing to use this 3rd gen . .and those mobos are for budget people . .if you want to get anything better then go for h67 or b75 and they looks cool with some extra feature specially that b75 looks good but if you want to buy something for budget gaming, then you should invest more in a gpu and cpu instead of mobos . .if you are a overclocker then the matter is different but if you are happy with the stock clock speed then h61 is for you
yes.... i too know all too well abt the open box cpu... or khola cpu... just cant trust those things.... anyways, seems like CS is bringing new lower midrange z77 boards.. the msi z77 gd45 for 16,000[laughable pricing] and the gd43 for 12,000[still laughable].... what bad pricing.... check it out http://www.computersourcebd.com/prod...pe/Motherboard
Bhai intel actually sells processors in trays and as boxed, so if I were you I'd not hesitate buying the tray processor as long as I can make sure that the cooler they're providing with it is sufficient, this is why I carry a diagnostic folder that contains a registered version of hardware monitor pro, realtemp, GPU Z, Furmark, Intel Burn Test, Prime 95, and AIDA 64, comes in handy when stability testing a newly assembled system.
hmm.... are open box cpu and tray cpu the same??? i always thought open box was maybe second hand or sth refurbished in some way.... cause they [the shops] usually have 2-3 open box cpu which they try to give you as an intact cpu.[they ask around for spare intel box, saw it with my own eyes] and also, i read that the warranty is 1 year[tray cpu] instead of the usual 3 years... hmmm, guess the fancy intact seal on the box gives me peace thinking at least i did everything ok from my side. sigh...
Okay let me explain something, this is what I was told, I could be wrong though, the processor that are being sold as open boxed aren't exactly intel's tray processors, these are rather processors sold as bulk to OEM companies, and it's forbidden by law for retailers to sell these processors, but in Bangladesh the retailers buy these bulk processors which are meant for OEM only and is of course cheaper, and sells these as open box processors, hence you don't get the original stock coolers with them, as the OEM companies purchase processors only, and they don't need stock coolers as they provide cooking solutions of their own in the systems they sell.

Processors aren't as flimsy as other components and hence the usage doesn't wear it down, however as you've said, "peace of mind" or the satisfaction of the mine matters the most, but if I were you, I'd not hesitate buying a open box processor that costs less as long as the shopkeeper is providing warranty (which they do with their eyes closed, processors have less failure rates, 1 out of a 1000, and even that failure is caused due to some extreme overclocking or something wrongly done from the user's end)
And here's the sad truth, the Bangladeshi retailers are making fat profit from us by purchasing bulk quantities of products without any warranty from the manufacturers at a much cheaper rate and then selling these products to us with the same price tags of a genuinely warrantied product, processors are one of the components where they gamble the most as processors are a lot less prone to failures.

In simple words, yes.
