Default Recommend a PSU for this Configuration

    Hello Everyone,

Please give me the minimum and recommended requirement PSU for this config -

    CPU : intel i5 2400
    GPU : ATI 7850
    RAM : 4GBx2 DDR3

    *NO OVERCLOCKING WILL BE DONE*

People tell me not to buy "thermaltake lightpower" and go for "smart". Why is that? What's the difference? "Lightpowers" costs less for more watts. So, why not buy a "lightpower" with more watt than buying a "smart" with less watt?

Please do not refer to a PSU calculator.

    Thank You.

Buy a TT TR2 500w. That would do fine for your card. Dont waste money to buy a 550w/600w. Before buying just make sure its the latest revision of TR2.

Those are psu builder's advertisation in a simplicitic view. The thing which u r seeing in the lp advertised box is peak output wattage.A unit will never be able to provide that constantly. It will be achivable only at it's peak.Check the units maximum stable combined rail wattage (3.3v,+5v,+12v).This is the wattage a unit will be able to provide stably.

To be more precise and make everything simple just cheak the +12V amp ratting and its maximum combined amp (for multirail psu). This rail is most importan because the most power hungry components of ur pc will get fuel/current through this rail. The higher the ratting the better it is.Usually a psu with better +12v ratting will automatically have good amperage rattings in other rails.

The choices are simple really, the newer revisions of TR2 550W or the Delta 550W, your call.

TT smart or Delta are much better psu than the TT litepower. You should not judge a psu by the wattage rated on the box. A TR2 500w should be enough for your PC. Delta 500w would be better.
