well, the problem is that the 412 slim is really new... i think it launched in the first week of june... which was last month and it isnt the greatest cooler which would have definitely caught the eyes of all the great reviewers.. its just a modest cooler [maybe] replacing the hyper 212 evo.... cant seem to find any good comparison between the evo and the 412... its seems from the specification that the 412 has a thicker heatsink[dimensions] but i dont like the thin profile 120x120x15mm fans... and can someone tell me whether the two fans have seperate connectors[that would be a problem for me as i have 1 cpu fan header] or a single y connector or sth meaning u need only one fan header.... thanks

^Spambot @aayman that signature kinda looks suspicious, don't you think so? I apologise if I'm wrong.

@engapu weird.... i got the cm hyper evo and stock temps are nice and all, idles hovers around 38-40c and full load hovers around 56-58c [e8400@3GHz] but when oc'ed to 3.6GHz, temps go crazy... 40 mins in OCCT linpack test gave me 76-80c. i mean what is up with that. i admit i have poor airflow but i do keep the side of my case open. and here i thought that i would go for 4 GHz. its just sad. i also noticed sth [after installation] that 2 out of the 4 protruding heatpipe heads at the top on each side[ total 8 heads protruding] are kinda squished or compressed or pressed together [and the more weird thing is that the squished heatpipe heads kinda have symmetry meaning the 2 squished heatpipe heads are on the extreme opposite ends of each other and the squished or compressed side of the heatpipe, on opposite ends, are facing each other]. the remaining 2 heatpipe heads are like the diagram on the box, perfectly shaped. now is that what is causing the bad temp or was it just me doing a bad tim job. i applied the tim given with the cooler.

how did you apply the tim? post some pictures of your cooler heatpipes and @dipanzan can help you as he used the cooler by himself

Probably a case of bad mount, if possible post pics, then we might be able to help.

in the first pic, u can see the lower 2 heatpipes are 'squished'
the pic right of the first pic, and the pic just below the first pic are both of the same 4 heatpipes taken from a 'top' and 'bottom' like angle.
hope someone can explain if this is how it was supposed to be....

but why are they like that?? i mean the picture on the box shows all the 8 heatpipe heads are same but in reality, its like the above pics.... y r they crumpled like that?? for better heat dissipation and if so, y not all of them... i just dont get it..... ahhhh.... so i guess my bad temps must result from either really bad case air flow or bad tim job

Because that tip is useless, the contact points to the fins are still perfect hence same temps.
