Since its Ebay, talk to the seller if he can ship to BD.
You can also buy from Origin, the IN market has substantially reduced price. I myself bought a couple of things from there
they don't have the option to ship anywhere else except INDIA!!

I'm a student in the US so I have my own card.
Steam sales are nothing un-achieveable if you know the correct people.

And yes any relative living abroad can help you, you just need to convince them to give their card details. It's as safe as it could be but you'll still have a hard time convincing them

@aayman yeah i guess..... like u said, its the convincing part thats gonna be hard... but i always thought the shipping would be killer expensive.... like through DHL or UPS or FedEx and such... the guys at amazon.co.bd charges a 800tk per kg as shipping charge for usa to bd...[kinda reasonable] but really kills it with their 110tk per dollar scheme.... dollar right now is somewhere 83-84tk. so for my question- if, hypothetically, someone abroad buys sth say weighing 1 kg and wants to send it to me, will the shipping cost be like 800-1000tk cause thats quite ok i guess.... and the reason i am asking u specifically cause u live there and so have idea abt their tax and such...
@Codex yeah, i think i know someone but the real problem is me.... i get all gitty and excited when i see sth like gta iv for 5 bucks and then come to realize that i dont spend much time playing games anymore.... just the good ones, like max payne 3 etc.
@mahadi360 that would be wonderful because clickbd right now sucks big time... i used to go there regularly to see what new items are posted for sell but now, its just full of crap and scammers claiming to have 'genuine japanese core 2 duo processors'....i mean come on.... but more than ebay, we need paypal in bangladesh.
No they won't do that. They ship once a month and in bulk thats why shipping charges are so low compared to the norm. You can try lil USA, I think they are more reasonable with their rates, especially dollars'.
there are many reasons for ebay not being launched in bd
1)we dont have a back up submarine cable
2)there is no paypal in bangladesh or any international credit card company
3)only 1.9% of our total population use internet
4)plus hardly anyone use credit cards
etc etc more and more bullshit that only causes frustration
Cards are not the problem, the main problem is the security . Basically there's no online security in place, no consumer/legal protection, no effective means of protecting clients or pursuing lawbreakers. Until these are resolved don't expect anything major in terms of online payment in BD.
yes, this is a very valid point.... which big company would like to invest their time here where there is no legal support to be found against wrongdoers.... i too think this is the biggest problem with bd at the moment. we have a somewhat good population and spare money to spend on luxury items but just dont have the proper means to do it. but there are SO much more pressing issues the country needs to deal with.... :sigh:
on a lighter note, lets see what lil usa is like.... i went to 'fuad bhai' at his shop in malibagh mor, at concord twin tower.... he's a... ok guy but was really busy at that time video chatting with someone with shipping details. but his method seems secure and fast and he is very responsive. lets see how everything goes.
