Default Recommend me a good Z77 mobo

    Hey there,

Feel it's finally time upgrade from this old pos. Have a 3770k coming from Sg, but can't arrange a mobo.

So will have to get one from here (Oh boy)

Can someone brief me on the options available as well as pricing? Simple mobos would do for me, well ones that are simple and can mildly overclock anyway.

Don't care about onboard audio, I'll be using a Xonar Essence STX with it. Gbit lan would be a requirement, dual lan not needed. Dual pci-e would be preferred, but not an hard requirement. Please try to recommend mobos with lots of sata ports, I frequently run out of sata ports `-`

I'd prefer it if the mobo has atleast one legacy pci slot (Pci-e x1 is a requirement for the stx).

    Thanks before-hands for any replies!

Since you need that many SATA, the only thing that comes to mind is the P8Z77-V or you can look at the Gigabyte Z77 D3H but it has only 6 SATA. Or if you like the MSI Z77, buy mine.

@Codex , Winty there's also a Bioster Z77 XE4 @17k. Can't comment on the performance or anything but it's pretty good and you also get a remote for your "multimedia" needs lol, and a Bioster Z68 @11k and has 8 SATA ports. But seriously if you need that many SATA you're better off buying a NAS, no?

Well, thread is now redundant. Got the P8Z77-V.

Ripoff price (20.9k), but not much I could do.

Lol. I'd be pretty content if I actually got the pro at that price.

    Ah well, I suppose.

The Pro has more phases and it's 99% similar to the Vanilla, and some onboard power/reset switch handy when overclocking, though at that price yes it should have been the Pro as the regular Z68s were only 16-17k.

    BD prices suck...
