Default [IEM] - [Short Review] - SoundMAGIC E10M In Ear Monitor

I have been using pair of Logitech Ultimae Ears 200vi for a year. Those are really good IEMs (If you can call them that). They cost me around 2300 Tk and were totally worth it. Now they go for 3300 Tk. I donít think they are worth that much.

Problem with UE200vi is having almost no BASS. They provide really low amount of base. Or maybe not the amount hiphop/dance/electronic music requires.
And My SII canít really drive them to the max, more precise to say the BASS to the max. Even with Supercurioís Vodoo Louder app (Which negates the 6db cap placed on the DAC in SII).

But if you listen to classical music with a good source they are awesome. The high reproduction is one of the best in my opinion. You can listen to every single instrument and every single tone. I was satisfied with them.

    Specs:

    Driver type: Diaphragm
    Frequency response: 20 Hz Ė 20 kHz
    Impedance: 16 ohms
    Sensitivity: 107 dB SPL/mW, 1 kHz
    Noise isolation: -26 dB
    Weight: 11 g
Microphone frequency response: 200 Hz Ė 10 kHz
    Microphone sensitivity: -58 dBV/Pa
    Warranty: 2 years

So I recently got the SoundMAGIC E10M. For $45 around 3700 Tk.
    From amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o00_s00_i00

So thought I should do a short review.

    Specs:
    Transducers:Dynamics,10mm,Neodymium
    Frequency range:15Hz-22Khz
    DC resistance:16+/-10%Ohms
    Sensitivity:100+/-2db at 1khz/mW
    Microphone frequency range:20Hz-16KHz
    Micriphone input power:20mW
    Cable length:1.2m
    Connector:3.5mm,1 style plug gold-plated
    Weight:12g

The difference between E10 and E10M is that E10M has a built-In MIC and iPhone/iPod compatible media controls in the cable. The E10 is more cheaper at around $35

    Packaging and Built Quality:

The packet is of very high quality and beautiful. I donít care about this though.
It contains the IEM, some extra ear tips, lather like pouch for the IEM, some papers. And as iPhone/iPod compatible ear phones have four contacts in the connector. SoundMAGIC provides an adapter which splits the connector to typical three contact ones for MIC and HP separately. This made my day. In a lot of cases and devices these four contact connectors donít work. And I can use this for playing CSS on my PC.

Built quality of the IEM is really good. Everything is made out of Metal except the remote MIC combo. I was really disappointed at this. I donít know maybe itís just this one; they did not match the color of the remote with the metal parts. Although made of plastic, the remote is sturdy. Also the color is Black/Gold. I wouldn't say gold, its like red gold.

The cable is tangle free. And pretty good at that, feels solid and strong. I think the UE200vi had a better tangle free cable. I have to wait and see how good this pair is.
The one other problem is the supplied tips are horrible. They are made of some thin rubber like stuff which does not provide any isolation what so ever. After using a UE200vi for so long itís like total nightmare. So after one try I discarded them and started using the UE tips I had. Those ones are silicone and provide very good isolation. I will get some Comply T-400s in the future.

    Sound:

Using them with my SII first thing I noticed is the BASS. This pair has a lot of them. Without even the Louder app.
Sound quality is really good. High is comparable to the UE200vi. Good mid and really good Bass or high. I have to test them with very good DACs to really find the difference.
    So far I am satisfied.
The MIC works as expected, Sound quality satisfactory.
The remote is not of the best design. The UE one was better as the outer casing of the remote made sure you always feel the proper buttons. Not in this case. All buttons are the same. And you have to fumble a bit to find the right button. Maybe I have to practice a bit more to get used to it.

So thatís it so far, havenít found any serious problem with it so far.
I will update this if something happens or I have forgotten something.
