Sorry if the thread name looks too long, but I couldn't come up with a better name, anyways cutting to the chase. I once bought a used Gigabyte G31 motherboard from Elephant Road and it had no papers, however the board's still eligible for warranty, but when the board was taken to Smart Technologies BD Ltd. they refused to provide RMA saying that without papers it's not possible for them, even though the board has legit warranty period remaining.
And we all know how reputed U.C.C. and Global are for screwing their customers when claiming warranty for products, coming up with fungus and rust and stuff, so, it hit me, why can't Bangladesh have warranty policies like the retailers or importers have abroad? And not only that, but why can't the local importers or authorised resellers and/or retailers provide Global warranty services like they do abroad? We're paying the same amount of money or in some cases more than what these products are sold for in foreign countries, then why should we settle for less when it comes to after sales/warranty services? I think it's about time, us, the consumers, take a step up and make our voices heard to the proper authorities like BCS and submit a public petition to have BCS strictly monitor prices of computer products and after sales service, and also, raise the after sales service standard to the same level which is provided abroad. Those of you, that believe this would help us consumers, please provide your opinion and suggestions on the petition or other alternatives on approaching BCS regarding this matter, thanks for taking the time to read this.
Thank you aayman for changing the thread title!
