    Cool Tour de France 2012

The Tour de France returns to PC and consoles this Summer

    Attachment 21711

Sporting competition -- especially competitive sports -- is often said to be the true pulse of the manly man... We don't know about that, but we do know that when thrust into a competitive situation, most blokes we know want to win if they can, and when your sport of the day is the grueling Tour de France, well, you really have to want to win to subject your body to that sort of pain mates... Which is why the news that the Tour de France is back on PC and consoles this Summer is pretty spiffy news indeed! Our fingers may get tired but at least our legs won't fall off!

Appearing as the leading race for Cyanide's PC sports simulation Pro Cycling Manager, the Tour de France appeared last year for the first time on consoles with the launch of the PS3/Xbox 360 game from the same developer: Tour de France 2011 -- and it is about to happen again in 2012!

Following Pro Cycling Manager's success on PC, Tour de France 2011 on consoles seduced a large portion of the gaming public in Europe -- you know, that place where they have lots of bicycles and race them just for the fun of it? They also treat mayonnaise the way that Yanks treat catchup (seriously, we have seen them cover their chips in it and slurp it down... Ewww!). So take that in to consideration and you contemplate region-appropriate snacks and the news that Pro Cycling Manager 2012 on PC and Tour de France 2012 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will be arriving in June.

We are told that the games have been strengthened by massive feedback from gamers and the lofty expectations of last years' players, so that the 2012 Tour de France console game is much improved and loaded with new features. Tweaked-out graphics, new controls, a more realistic AI and, for the first time ever, a multiplayer mode is what will be awaiting gamers and racing fans the world over as they slot this puppy into their system!

And if that was not enough new models for riders, brand new teams, and more beautiful scenery will grace both the PC and console games, which share top-notch graphics and production and how about that?

To get a first look at the excitement check out the very first screenshots of the games:
