Hello Guys i have 2 laptops and i need to transfer some files between them, both of them have wi-fi and are in a AD HOC Network but i can not see each other laptop on each others laptop.
Use same workgroup or use any software like hfs for file sharing.
Problem is that on the laptop i need to receive the files is using windows vista and the laptop that is to send the files is using windows 7.Originally Posted by SadmanBD

Leave homegroup. Use public file sharing.
Step 1. Use same workgroup on both pc.
Step 2. Make sure both pcs are connected under a same network.
Step 3. To share a folder go to Properties > Sharing > Advance Sharing and then check "Share this folder".
Step 4. Now go to the network tab in windows explorer. You will see the other pc.
Step 5. You can map a network drive for quick access.
Step 6. To connect without a password (if the other pc have no password configured) post here.
The Hell with it im installing 7 on my vista's separate parition drive and hopefully it'll work.
Don't need to install Windows 7. You can even use any linux or unix distro and share files. OS is not the main issue here. The configurations are.
Ok im transferring them at a speed of 60MB/s pretty nice so thanks dude.
